Default What does a BONE STOCK 04 GTO make at the ground?

I am thinking about buying a 04 Goat and am curious as what HP and TRQ numbers they make at the ground in stock form with a auto and a manual. If anyone has numbers would you post them. Thanks

How come some of the auto's you say make even less than that. The car that I have found is a auto car and with the numbers that low and you say some are even lower maybe I should hold off for a manual. My only plans for the car are a set of longtubes,K&N intake system free mods and a 150 to 175 shot.

On a DynoJet a stock A4 04, no tune no nothing will typically average 285 - 290 rwhp.

My baseline dyno (stock + LPI CAI) was:

Run 1: 297.0/326.2
Run 2: 302.4/325.1
Run 3: 302.3/326.7

The typical tune coming from the factory on the 04 was crap, I was lucky and was actually pretty well tuned. Most cars had spark plug gaps that didn't even match.

An A4 has about a 17% loss from the crank. So 350 * .83 = 290.5rwhp
So with my current bolt-ons (LTs/CAI/exhaust) I'm at about 385hp *.83 = 319.55rwhp

Manuals have more like a 13 to 14 % loss...but all things equal are slower in the 1/4.

If your gonna spray it I'd go with the A4 for sure. don't let the #'s scare you stock my 04 ran a 13.59 on stock tires with 3000 miles on it.

Those #'s are too high for an 04'. They look more like LS2 numbers. From what I've seen the 04's dyno slightly less than an LS1 f-body because of their independant rears.

They're not right for a stock LS2 either....too low. The numbers I posted are the correct ones to expect for a stock 2004 LS1 A4.

So the rearend setup really eats alot of the power. My stock 99 TA with bolt on minus exhaust and headers made 311 and 325 on a dyno jet. It just seems hard to believe that the rearend on the GTO's takes up that much power.

LS1 GTO's will dyno lower than LS1 F body's. The tune is more conservative from the factory, and the IRS eats up a little more hp.

I've got a 2004 M6 for sale...

That is really a suprise to me about the rearend eating that much. What are you wanting out of you GT0 and if you don't mind telling me why are you selling it?

That really just seems a little low for a car that is rated at 350 at the crank from the factory or am I just looking for to much from a factory car?

Yeah I agree about not having a dyno queen. I was just wanting real numbers from people that have the cars. I do plan on doing some mods to one if I get one,but I wanted to see what numbers I would be starting with.
