Default Z06 LS7 Before/After Headers

Here is a bone stock Z06 LS7 with around 1K miles before and after installing a set of American Racing headers with catted pipes. No tuning yet.

Didn't drive it. Not my car.

Its around 16 hp in most other areas of the graph before peak. Not quite the 25 American Racing said to expect.

Waiting for the software and cable to arrive.

This is a good example why you should not just look at peak numbers.

True but I wonder if he could gain 10-15 hp from the tune alone on the stock manifolds.

I've never heard of them either, but that's what the shop that ordered them said they were. They reminded me of FLPs that I've installed on C5s before except the cats (very small) were welded in the pipes instead of them being clamped in like the FLPs. It wouldn't surprise me if they were made by Dynatech like FLPs and just labeled for someone else. I even googled American Racing Corvette Headers and came up with nothing. The install only took about 3 1/2 hours anf the fit and finish was really nice.

Here is the before and after A/F. The leaner one is after. The battery was disconnected during the install so I don't know if that would have effected the A/F or just the headers themselves leaned it up. The car was not driven. It was dynoed, the headers were installed while still on the dyno, (above ground dyno) and then redynoed.

People.....You need to look at the power under the curve. Peak performance really doesnt mean much. You guys get caught up with peak numbers wayyy to much. To someone who knows what they're looking at would say thats a pretty damn good increase through out the power band, especially the torque! Get'er tuned and That sucker will move.

nice gains...gotta look at under the curve rather then just at peak #'s and keep in mind they are still catted headers with no tuning!

Possible, but as you can see, its making more power right at the beginning of the pull.

LG Headers made almost 40rwhp and 50rwtq gains on a LS7 with no tuning.
