No downshift after cam G5X2 swap/tune?

No downshift after cam G5X2 swap/tune? Swapped LS1 hotcam (219/228&.525/.525LSA 112) out and put in LGM G5X2 (232/250&.595/.608LSA 114). 4L60E inside.
Some really strange results:
1) Tuner didn't get alot of time with the vehicle.
2) Took it out and drove it - runs extremely smooth at idle (not sure before the tune how it ran) - VERY streetable
3) Couldn't get it to downshift. Brought it to 40mph and mashed it - remained in same gear/accelerated (slowly).
4) Could manually shift into every gear, both up and down - but didn't push this cause I don't want to mess up the tranny
5) "As-is" the cam picked up 10HP over the hotcam w/ tune
6) Tried to brake-stand (accelerator/brake held down same time) would not light up the tires - almost like it would take off in second gear.
Any ideas what might be the problem?

5) that would worry me as the g5x2 should whoop *** on the hotcam, hands down, no contest..another tuning issue.
6) that i have no idea. i know with my car in 2nd if i brakestall, it will stall up and then immediately IGNITE the tires, but i have a 4k stall..
