Default Thunder 230/224 575/563 111 LSA cam results.

Finally visited the Dyno with the new cam in place. I hit the numbers I openly admitted to, but really wanted about 10 more.

HP=370 TQ=359 AF was around 13.0.

The cam idles well at 850 RPM with a mild Lope and is really tame thru LT's and stock mufflers. With dual valve springs I have the rev limiter set to 6700 and the cam pulled all the way to 6600.

I was really shocked to see the TQ curve. Flat from idle to 3000 the raises to peak by 3800 then flattens back out. I guess this is a result of the 111 LSA.

I am wondering if my stock mufflers are holding any power?

you should be making atleast 380-390 on stock heads if anything.. im pretty sure that stock exhaust is eating up power for sure. what other mods do you have?

Get some Stingers, stock C5 mufflers suck unless they're the z06 ones. I'd say you're leaving 10-15rwhp on the table with the stock catback. My '99 picked up 9rwhp on a stock motor.

Cats and mufflers are killing your power. Im betting you would be around 390 with cutouts and no cats.

Is the redline 12:1 or 13:1. either way looks pretty lean in the lower RPM 15:1 range? Or am i reading it wrong, hard to see the numbers on the right. Man people always manage to take the WORST pics on the planet and then post them. LOL

SDC, The RedLine fuel air was 12.9. A little lean, but the measurements where taken fron the tail pipe so I question the readings some.

Looks good to me for the mods you have. The Cats,exhaust are hurting and I don't see an underdrive pulley.

Casado, I do not see any reason this cam with good tuning can not put down 400RWHP on stock heads.

Holy old thread batman!

You should be closer to 390 imho. Get that exhaust off there and toss on a UD pulley, you should get close to 400.

remember, vettes are known to dyno 5-8rwhp lower than fbodys. I read that the rearend sucks up more power than fbody's & 10 bolt. get a good exhaust & U/D pulley and you'll be right were you should be.

I had this cam 2 years ago. It made 390rwhp with open cut out and 384 with it closed. Look at times in sig. Full weight on skinnys and et streets. It was only the thrind time I sprayed it with the 150 shot. On a N/A tune. Hmmm makes me wonder what it really would have done.
