Default Stock 346 C5 puts down 647/583 thru an A4!!!

With our 225's (out of the box naturally) and a D1SC ProCharger on 91 octane and only 9 lbs. of boost!!

Simply incredible for such a mild mannered package thru an A-4 trans and 3.42 gears.

More specifics...

Bone stock GM short with 40K on the clock (think it will see 45K?.... )

Custom 220/228 cam (115 ICL) that allows the car to idle smoothly at 750 RPM (that just rolls me considering the output....LOL)

10.0 to 1 CR

Kooks 1.875 headers with 3" Cats blowing thru a pair of stock GM Titanium mufflers (from a Z06)....also ridiculous considering the power output.

Yank converter / stock trans (shiftkit going in soon!)

Stock fuel pump with a Kenne Bell BAP / 60 lb. Motron injectors.

FAST Intake (stock) with a ported LS2 90 mm TB

Whats even crazier is that we only had half a day and the tune is still stupid safe....11-11.7 AFR....only 18' of timing, etc. I think there is another 20 left in it with another degree or two of timing....possibly a little leaner A/F ratio. As I said, we really only had a few hours to dyno the car. I will keep you guys abreast of our progress and also try to get a dyno gragh up here in the next couple of days.

We drove to the dyno hoping for 600+ thinking that would be pretty good for an A4 car with moderate boost....I must say we were all pleasantly surprised with the results. Just thought I would keep you guys informed.

Look for more updates on this project in the near future.

Thanks Guys...
Tony M.

Wow...that's some big *** power through an automatic.
I'm very impressed. I hope the stock bottom end lives for you guys.
That's certainly asking a lot from it!

Good work!

Yeah I'm suprised that amount of torque didn't kill it after a few WOT romps.

Tony, would you recommend the 225 small bores over the 205's for boosted apps?

Especially one pushing 80-90lbs/min of air? I have a twin turbo setup that can push that much air.

Thanks.

It simply depends on your desired CR....we ran the large bore 225's for two reasons....the first was the larger bore 225 was the only head available at the time (a no brainer....LOL), the second was that our goal was to drop the CR of the stock short which is actually a little lower than 10 to 1 in an attempt to be able to run a little more boost before detonation set in with stupid cylinder pressure and 91 octane fuel. Even if the small bore 225's were available we would have opted for the larger 72 cc version to kill some static CR.

Looking to get my setup down to a 9:1 give or take a few tenths.

I'm curious if the heads,or whole induction setup for that matter, will support the flow or it will be choked.

Also curious how port volume plays a role in FI'd apps as well.
