Default 408 w/patriot heads dyno chart!

well heres the results from my new 408 build...

keep in mind these numbers are 100% untuned... no hypertech or ANYTHIGN... bone stock tune..

also... stock injectors/stock intake manifold, stock intake system, stock exhaust manifolds/stock H pipe.

also had to dyno the car in 5th gear because my 4th gear sticks every now and then and we didnt want to take the chance of getting stuck on the dyno lol... so the dude said that it could be off just a little bit cause it doesnt always fix it to 1:1 perfect every time or something like that??

410.9 RWHP and 375.6 RWTQ..

tune, fast 90/90, long tube headers with non catted H pipe and i think 500 RWHP NA will be totally attainable... guess we will see though??

i bought the heads used from a friend of mine.. stage 3 heads with additional hand porting/smooting by speed INC.. they were supposed to flow well over 320 CFM on a big bore bench.

the cam is a 249/254 615/619 on a 110.9 LSA custom ground by thunder racing.

i thought it was pretty sweet the car kept making powe all the way up to redline.. never peaked... just keep on going lol... im guessing those heads flowed the best up high..??? cause that cam was supposed to peak around 5400 RPM's if i remember right?

What were your AF ratios? Also, what compression ratio is the motor running?

Yeah, that'll wake up nicely with the bolt-ons and it'll really make your nice and light Z fly. I'm just curious, why did you do a 408 before the bolt-ons?

im not sure what the A/F was at.. the compression is at around 11.3:1

the car was too low and the exaust is dumped after the H pipe before the axles.. so they couldnt fit the wideband into it... (yeah i know it sucked)

I put the 408 in because of a failed valve spring which shattered a piston and threw a rod through the block... dicided might as well go big while i was at it.. havent had the money for long tubes or a 90/90 setup yet...

I think you need to dyno the car in fourth and use a wideband. You could be going EXTREMELY lean with stock injectors and that size motor. Might end up ruining a perfectly good mill...

i dont think its leaning out too much.. it was a nice steady curve with HP and torque.. ususlaly when you max injectors it gets all over the place.. i think i was running pig rich through the range and then leaned out a bit when the injectors were close to maxing and gained some more power.. which is whymy curve never peaked.. i think it leaned out and gained some HP...

but your right.. a wideband would do TONS of good..

are you on stock injectors now?

I dont see how the car can even be fired up with out any tuning at all?

I know when I put in my 224 cam the car was having major issues with idle and everything until I had at least a basic tune on it.

BONE stock tune and BONE stock injectors... havent even run a datalogger on it yet... it is completely untouched

i think the Z06's larger cam is why its running decent on a stock tune... not AS big of a change as a LS1 when you put a cam in it... but your right.. .i was very very very surprised it ran on a stock tune.. not to mention ran pretty damn good

You are a brave man lol. Seems like a waste of money for a dyno run.

I agree, totally senseless to run it untuned. Any shop that would willingly put it on the rollers would be taking a fair amount of risk. Stock injectors, tuning, 408ci w/ HC = disaster waiting to happen. Since I havent seen anyone else do something like this, I guess your results are great!

lol beleive it or not the car runs pretty awesome, doesnt throw any codes.. doesnt have any problems.. and idles pretty awesome at stop lights most the time... maybe my car is a fluke??? maybe the attention to detail made a difference?? lol i have no idea..

i just wanted to see where the car was at before tuning.. to see what i gained after tuning...

BTW.. i have only put about 1,700 miles on the car since the motor install... broke it in and had some problems with my steering and it sat for another month...
