New cam without tune on A4

New cam without tune on A4
Alright guys I went ahead and dyno'd the car with the following: 98 LS1 motor rebuilt, a Thunder Racing cam 220/220 .551/.551 114 LSA, stock LS1 heads decked, ported throttle body, LS1 intake, comp 918 valve springs w/ titanium retainers, thunder racing pushrods, EGR mod, a Pro Torque 2400-2800 stall converter (the way they listed the part number), Dynatec LT's w/catted Y and an SLP LM catback. I have not yet had it tuned and Thunder racing says this cam requires a tune, which I plan on doing...however is a tune going to help these numbers significantly or is something else wrong?? It is an A4 with a stall and no tune so I expected lower numbers but not this low. Any help would be appreciated as I've seen bolt on cars make better power than I'm making. Thanks!!! Sorry for big pic...tryed to resize and didn't work.

1. Was the convertor locked during the the dyno run?
2. Ls1 intake is choking you
3. Tuning will make a huge difference
4. The catted Y is killing some power too.
Provided all of the above I think that its still a bit low but not bad, if you fix the above I think 360rwhp+ is deifintely doable...

by the looks of your dyno sheet,it looks like your TQ was unlocked.if so your numbers aren't bad.and yes,the tune can make a big difference.with an LS6 intake and a tune i would expect a 30+ hp increase.

Thanks guys!!! I'll be saving up somemore scratch for a tune and an LS6 manifold and see what happens. I assume I should wait to get the manifold before I tune??!! I guess that would make sense. Will a tune change how the torque converter locks up? I know the shift points can be adjusted as well as the firmness of shifts and rev limiter but does it affect the converter? I feel like a lot was left on the table with the converter not locked up.

I drive this car everyday so I couldn't get crazy with the cam and stall $3+ dollars a gallon on a daily driver would empty my account. I drive 250 miles a week and get 16-17 miles a gallon...18 if I'm lucky on premium. I was told I could get 360rwhp pretty easy with that cam and stock heads. I guess if it was an M6 with an LS6 intake and a tune it would make that. I guess I'm shopping for underdrive pulleys, LS6 intake, and a tune now??!! There goes another grand. LOL!!
