I used both and i prefer the Dynojet with Eddie Current loader over the Mustang Dyno. The Dynojet interface is million years ahead of the mustang dyno. The Dynojet interface is more user friendly and with the eddie current you also can load the car too.

Most people like the dynojet because they give free hp #'s,then they can claim they have more power. i have been on two dynojets one said i had 408hp and they other said 405hp on an old set up. i went to a mustang dyno and it said 378hp. big difference from the jets. now...new set up..463hp 413.8tq same mustang dyno that gave me 378 on my old set up.

neither really gives "true" HP numbers. the mustang is more of a tuning dyno and the dynojet is more of a #s dyno from what i have seen

I would really be interested in your definition of "true" HP numbers.

If they (Dynojet with Eddie Current loader) are so good, you could be right, why aren't there any around? Another question that I would be interested in the answer, I think we all know that the Dynojets provide higher numbers then the other brands, does adding the eddie current load to one provide higher numbers yet? It should.

.. as long as you do not hop from one to another... It is just a tuning tool. You use it to isolate the results from changes. If possible always try to use the exact same dyno for measuring results from modifications...

SMOKINHOT98-thanks,the car can hold it's own,but we have alot of bada*s cars on this site. the stang dyno does give a closer to true #'s. i only use the dyno for tuning and always use the same stang dyno. i HOPE on my next visit to the track the car will go 9.8 or 9.9's in the 1/4mi,best so far is a 10.2.

I've dyno'ed twice now on both a Mustang and a Dynojet. Both occasions the #s were within 5hp of each other.

Sure is giving me the same output....

Sure, I wish I had my last dyno on a Dyno-jet so I could claim to have over 450.
But I would put my z against any 400 HP cars on a Dyno-jet

I voted for mustang, because I haven't used a dynojet since they added load absorbing capability. I would like to see how their pau setups work.

I always wondered how you could get two completely seperate "SAE" numbers from the two dyno's. You'd figure, they are SAE corrected, they'd be within a few percent of each other...

The SAE, STD, Din, or whatever correction used is only correcting, OR partially trying to correct for different weather conditions, etc. It HAS NOTHING to do with the dyno operation or testing varibles like load, accel rate, different measuring methods, and so on..

Mustang dynos will dyno higher than a dynojet if the loading functions are turned off. Each are a tuning tool, and as long as your not jumping around dynos to tune, like mentioned, you'll be just fine. It is a tuning tool, no more, no less.
