Default LS1 Vs LS2 horsepower Differences to the Wheels

What if a LS2 and a LS1 has the exact same setup. Same heads, same cam, same exhaust, same everything. Except the LS1 has the LS6 intake manifold with a ported throttle body and the LS2 has stock intake manifold. How much horsepower to the wheels will be different between the two?

Sounds like you're trying to win a bet or something. When you say same cam, what same cam? What same exhaust? What same compression? What same dynamic compression? Basically, the LS2 should make 18-22 more tq by virtue of its additional 18 cubes, but not necessarily that much in hp...because if they're running the same everything...then the LS2 could be undercammed, underexhausted, undervalved in comparison to the LS1.

Questions like this are dumb IMO because you can never really get them exactly the same. So how much are you betting and what do you believe?

Well basically Livernois Motorsports has a C6 Corvette with the following mods:
Livernois Motorsports CNC Ported Stage 2 LS2 Cylinder Heads
Livernois Motorsports Stage 2 Camshaft(232/232 .595/.595)
Kooks Longtube Headers
Kook's X-Pipe w/ Cats
CAI
This car put down 445 rwhp and 390 rwtq

Basically I am wondering how much lower mine will be with the mods in my signature, also I will have a more agressive tune. I am unsure on the compression differences, I did pay more for head milling(61cc) so my compression might be higher. My car will be on the same exact dyno as the C6 also.

I would say 20 to 30 hp more for ls2. Better block. open areas around crank mains and siamesed bores make for better sealing on rings. Also larger bore helps breathing since valves are unshrouded more. Plus the big thing of more cubic inches.

Might consider a 2002+ Z06 with 405 hp and a 2005 C6 with 400 hp.

Good point, and the LS6 and the LS2 have the same heads and cam.

So technically you would be comparing 385hp vs 400hp.

How ever if your swapping out the heads and the cam, then you 'lose' most of the horsepower benefit that the ls6 possess over the ls1. So using a ls6 (in relation to an ls1) as your base engine to compaire to an ls2 wouldn't be a great question to ask considering your changing out the heads and cam.
