Default 408/A4 update. 538rwhp=10.3s@128.5mph with 1.38 60fts

I know alot of people think dyno numbers don't mean much or want to know what a HP number equates to in ET. I know there are a ton of variables, but we finally got the car to hook at the track and it ran a best ET of 10.39 coasting through the traps in the finals at 126mph with a 1.380 60ft. It trapped several 128.7s in the Texas heat as well.

It's an all motor car weighing in at a little over 3525#s in race trim. We drove it in and drove it out after swapping tires and capping the exhaust. We are very pleased that it all finally came together.

I hope this helps give some idea of what a given rwhp can calculate to when traction is possible at a given weight in an F-body.

See ya'll at the track!

Awesome James! Those are some bitchin ETs, especially considering the hot muggy weather. Congrats! Your ET and mph completely validate your dyno numbers.

Thanks guys! Yeah the air was hot and humid. It was at +2700 DA mid day and dropped to the +1980s later in the evening. I can't wait for the good Fall weather

I ran 6.57@103 in the 1/8th.

Now I need to find a way to drop some weight without sacrificing drivability and street safety. It's hard to do without spending some big $$. A MadMan manual rack would be a good option, lightweight brakes maybe and a LW bolt-on hood. Those sound like some good B-Day and Christmas presents for the little lady since it's her car huh?

I'm fortunate to have a good converter, tranny, rearend and tires that allow me to get the power to the ground. Thanks again for all your help Patrick!

Thumbs up

Damn. That is a kickass ET and mph. My raceweight is 125-lbs lighter than yours and I know I won't dyno that high. What size converter are you running?

The converter is a 9.5" custom stall convetrer from (Circle D) a local shop here in Houston. It was built with the intention of locking it in the top of 2nd gear for 1/8 mile races and the top of 3rd for 1/4 mile races, but I just got the car to hook and I haven't have the opportunity get good test data yet. I did test it once in the top of 3rd and picked up 2 mph, but I also had been spinning slightly on each pass so although it did run a better ET and gain mph, I don't know exactly how much yet. I hope to find out soon though.

Looks like you have a very nice set up. Keep us updated.

I'm running the FAST 90mm intake that I ported myself. My needed and usable powerband is all under 6500rpm so it works well for me.

Come on good air!!!

It's a custom (Comp) ground cam 248/252 112+4 LSA. Drivability is great, but sounds nasty when it's uncapped.

I'm running 93 octane unleaded pump gas. I will add a gallon or two of unleaded 104 if I know I'm going to have to hot lap it, but that hasn't been the case yet. I'm running a range of timing from 26 to 29 on the upper rpms. No signs of KR yet and we did our primary testing on straigh 93 pump gas to see what our limits were and all is well. I guess you could say it's a sweet surprise since we have seen many strokers having trouble running any normal amount of timing.

Once we get finished running some of the local racing events, I'm going to drop a few degrees of timing and see what the effects are. The car is now very consistent so we'll get some good data then.

Thanks guys!
