Default Good cam for flat impressive torque.

I'm looking for a good cam to yield some flat, but impressive torque.

I'm looking for something to get me in the 390-400 or more torque range and the 400-410 horspower range with LT's, Xpipe, bullets, 4.10's and custom ram air and stock heads. If you think it will help i can P&P my TB.

I'm sure you cam gurus are tired of these "I want this" threads but i really would appreciate any help. And like i said... flat range i dont want a dyno queen.

You'd need to raise the compression to get a good flat torque curve that high.Mid 220's Cam with 11-1+ compression would do it.

I really don't think you can achieve your goals with stock LS1 heads and the gears you're running. HP is easy with the right cam but 400 rwtq is another story. You should think about heads if you want to meet your goals.

i think there is another thread around that is pretty much asking the same thing.i think someone used a xer lobe ( ? ) 224/224 on a 110+4 and got around those numbers.

Take a look at 777's torque curve. It really comes on early. This cam is a 224/224 .565/.565 110LSA +4 Comp XE lobe. Cam-only setup.

Now if you wanted to keep the torque down low, but extend the hp past 5800, you'd want to add 10-12 degrees of duration to the exhaust (to put the overlap closer to TDC and let the motor breathe better).

Can't take credit for this dyno Don, it's Kevin Jackson's (777).

DAPSUPRSLO had almost an identical dyno with the same cam a few years ago. Big torque down low, then DIED after 5800. He said it was a blast to drive though.

I agree. Midrange torque/horsepower is much more fun than the peak setup's

228r from TSP is a sweet all around cam, it gives you lots of low end, and great mid an upper range power as well. And you dont have to rev the hell outta the motor to make power. That cam, by far has been one of the best daily driver cams i have driven.

DASUPRSLO also went 11.50's with that cam. Who said you need peak HP to get a good ET?

So basically the GM ASA cam with 1.8 rockers?

That's the idea! The ASA cam has fantastic valve events. With more curtain area (from faster rocker ratio), you'd have a winner. If you're running that combo, tell us how it is?

I always wanted to see the ASA cam/ 1.8 rockers and small runner heads like afrs, et, tfs. Anyone working on that?
