Default Stock 1997 Ls1 C5 M6 numbers, with LT's

Finally made it to the dyno for a baseline dyno/tune before CTCORVETTE gives it a horsepower makeover. Looks like my "self tune" with the LC-1 was actually DEAD ON! The first run was after the car had been leaned out at Lebanon Valley a month ago....down on hp and torque due to a lean condition and spark knock. I returned to my "wideband tune" from previous and regained 7hp and 10ft/lbs. Changing timing and fuel after that didn't net any noticible change. final #'s = 328rwhp/343rwtq. Car has 117k mi on it.

dyno chart to be posted shortly. All numbers are SAE CORRECTED.

Current mods include LG Street Longtubes, Vararam, Custom tuning, Borla Stingers. STOCK intake, heads, cam, etc.

Yeah its got one funny dip around 5600rpm...however when scaled the dyno guy mentioned that it was a couple of points and that I wouldn't see significant hp/tq differences and I wasn't planning on getting it perfect since I'm doing H/C in the next few weeks and I'll have to do it all over.

no offense but i was expecting a little higher out of a m6.... thats just my thoughts though. i put down 342/349 with ls6 intake and a cobra filter off the maf in my 99 FRC. stock exhaust, tune, internals etc.

No offense Chummma, but can you post your sheets SAE adjusted? That way we can see where my car falls short and hypothesize accordingly. My car put down 346rwhp/361 rwtq when not SAE corrected. Assuming you're talking SAE numbers on a stock frc with just intake..you have a real factory freak on your hands! Normal C5 autos dyno around 300rwhp stock and ~310-320 rwhp with M6 and intake mods.

the LS6 intake is definitely freeing up a "few" ponies but not the difference between you and I. No disrespect taken here, no prob.

Dyno to dyno things can vary, you're talking 14hp but only 2 ft lbs torque...its possible that my low restruction exhaust is hurting me...I'll be interested to see your chart. I thought mine leveled off too soon after 5250...most cars climb a bit more before peaking....its possible that we're seeing valve float on my 117k mi motor?

PM me with your email and I'll send the bin over. I use tunercat so I don't know if you'll be able to help. I know I did reduce timing SIGNIFICANTLY in the mid rpm (peak torque~4400) range to combat some knock that was being sensed. I'm thinking my worn heads and valves (plus carbon deposits) are most of the issue. New heads and cam on the way.

I've never heard of a stock LS1 with an LS6 intake making 340+.

That's how 01-02 F-bods came stock, and never has one dynoed 340.

Perhaps he meant he had longtubes on???? I know the FRC C5 ended up being the ZO6 but I'm not sure if it was higher on HP or not in 99. My 01 C5 6 spd with LGM Pro longtubes, Halltech Stinger and Ghl bullets dynoed 339 rwhp and 350 rwtq SAE through 4:10's. My very first dyno (stock) at DTE before they put the 4:10's in was 308 rwhp, I can't remember what the tq was.

Numbers in 99 FRC would be equivalent to any pre-01 LS1.

It would be a serious factory freak for a 99 FRC to put down that power with just an intake....that would mean 402 crank hp on a car that was rated at 345? Not saying I don't believe him...just saying he has a HELLUVA a stock car.

BTW a frc is the same as any 99-00 motor.... in 99 all c5 corvettes had same motor...same goes for 2000.... pre ls6 intake car dynod 333/339.
still gotta tune this biatch.... maybe i can muster some cash to buy the vin license for my hptuner...

AH HA! Looks like you dynoed damn close to me without your intake....sounds like the LS6 is worth the $ for 10rwhp/tq
