Default ls6 cam gains

I search but i keep finding cars with ls6 intake, ls6 heads or ls6 blocks. So this is why i ask

How much with i gain with an ls6 cam on my 99 camaro with a cat back and fipk? I assume that there is not tune needed and i will see no surging or bucking wien i am down real low in the rpms because of its size. Charts would be very nice also.

edit:
the only reason i am considering this is because i think my oil pump is slowly going out so i would throw in the cam and springs at the same time as the pump and i am not sure i wan to to mess around with longtubes in california yet.

although you could probly get away with no tune, to optimize your gains and make sure there isn't any surging etc then a tune will help alot! as far as gains.. probly 20-30 rear wheel hp... maybe more with all the supporting mods and a spot on tune

looking at your mods, i would do LT headers before a cam.. gonna be cheaper, net about the same HP if not more, and not mess up your tune as much..

15-20RWHP To get the most out of the swap I would have a local tuner bump the Limiter to 6200-6300 and shift around 6100-6200...

Buy some LT headers and an LS6 intake before you mess with a cam, your current plan would be doing it *** backwards...

If I were you I would by some Longtubes like pacesetters with the ory for like 665 and a LS6 intake then do a cheater cam you would have stock driveabilty and it would be very reliable and make good sleeper power.

you're in cali....leave it stock, ls6 cam would probably exceed your emissions limit :-)

There are better cam then the LS6 cam.

LS-1 2001+ 198/208 500/500 116 lsa
LS-6 207/217 525/525 116

do something like a 224R or 228R

224/224 581/581 112 or 114
or
224/228 581/588 112 or 114

^ what he said. Sure the LS6 will show some gains, but I would rather spend my money on a cam that I could grow with if I were you

ya my biggest problem is living in california. I think i am just going to get the mti stealth 2 cam if i end up installing one, it should pass smog and drive nice since i will be drivimg my car 70 miles a day for the next two years.
