Default budget head cam #'s

had my car tuned at new era about a month ago after doing a budget head cam setup over the winter. i had the engine out to make it easier to do all the work. all the mods are in my sig and i'm very happy with what it put down with hand ported heads. mike at new era did a great job tunning it and it made 434 hp and 410 tq. i plan on porting the tb and putting on a ud pulley this summer and going back to have it redynoed. i hope to make 450+ after that. do you guys think it can do it with just those 2 mods? is there anything else i can do to squeeze a couple more ponies out of it?

Congrats on doing the **** yourself man. Good job. A meziere EWP is good for a few and helps with improving gas mileage. Paired up with the ud pully you should see a few mpg improvement and some extra hp. Good luck.

isnt the BBK Intake Aluminum?
If so, you may end up robbing yourself some power from heat, unless of corse your planning on running lots of boost. Grab a LS6 or even better a Fast90. You will see the improvement on Dyno with the Fast, and even with the LS6 on the road.

please site your information source for the heat soak issue regarding the aluminum intake. also, please provide track times and proven information.

his intake is fine and not costing any power due to heat soak. haha

Hehe.. I was gonna ask for the same info. I have yet to see proof of heat soak, like measured air temps. real easy to say aluminum intakes heat soak..harder to proove.

i'm sure a fast intake would be better but this has all been done pretty cheap and i can't see spending that much on a intake and tb right now. i don't think the ls6 intake would be better because although the bbk is aluminum it is ported and has a 85mm tb. i might do the water pump but it all depends on what that costs. i think i'm pretty much maxed out with what i can squeeze out of it without spending a good chunk of money more.
