Default TTP custom cam and SD tune results

Well, the guys at TTP installed a new cam in my car today and did an SD tune. I'm very pleased with my results to say the least, especially in the humid 93* temps. The cam is a 230/236 .612/.608 113 lsa using xfi lobes. This replaced their Equalizer V3 (23x/23x .60x/60x 112 lsa on xer lobes) with which I made 438rwhp 392rwtq with the MAF. While I didn't gain much torque up high, it makes a lot more torque down low, and the car has much better street manners, and sick throttle response. The final numbers for today were 453rwhp 397rwtq. We're going to retune it once I get an OTRCAI. Here's the dyno sheet:

Nice gains and definitely a nice cam. I guess you had the TFS215s with the ttp cam when you made 438rwhp.

That's correct. I had the TFS 215s when the car made 438rwhp.

The size of that cam seems to work well on XFI lobes. I know someone who has this cam on XE-R lobes in a Z06 and runs low 11s at 123. 15rwhp is a solid gain for a cam that is about the same size in duration as the TTP V3.

Oh yeah. It's a lot of fun to drive now. So much better street manners with the added low end torque. Maybe next Friday we'll hit the track. Have your friend bring that big 'ol 300C

I'll try...but for him it depends if the half shafts come in...
He just might have the fastest SRT8 (N/A) in the north east
Fully built 426ci stroker, stage II heads/cam/ported intake/Kooks 1 7/8", 2800 stall

That new cam has a significant amount of lift over the V3...your specs are a little off on the V3.

Any idea what DCR and SCR you're at on that setup? Either way, nice rwhp numbers. Hope you're happy with the SD tune, I have one in my TA from TTP as well. The car idles 100x better now than it did with a MAF.

I don't have the cam card, so I'm not sure what the DCR and SCR are. I was under the impression that the V3 was somewhere in the .602/.605 range, but I could be wrong. You're right about the idle with the SD tune; so much smoother.

My fault on the DCR question, should be obvious you wouldn't have that not knowing the cam specs. The SCR you can still figure out, might explain why the torque is low.

No, actually it's my fault. I don't know what I was thinking DCR/SCR stood for. As I recall, when we put the heads on the car, the SCR was about 10.8:1 with the 62cc chambers and the Equalizer. Would that change with the new cam?

These xfi lobes are much smoother than the xe-r lobes too, so they don't beat the crap out of the valvetrain either.

I know this thread is about a month old but I like the results. Matter of fact, my tuner is putting this cam in my car. I'd been waiting on results from his car, got to hear it at idle (C5Z) and seemingly worked great. My car is an 05 C6 with Kooks 1 3/4" long-tubes, x-pipe with cats, cat-back, cai and a FAST. Goes in next week, can't wait. Using an ASP u/d pulley as well.

You'll really like this cam. It makes great power and is very driveable. We were able to squeak a little extra power out of it today too with the over the radiator intake. While the peak numbers only went up 3rwhp and 2rwtq, there were some gains all across the power band. We also installed a one piece driveshaft, but I don't think that contributed anything. I'll post the new graph soon. Weather conditions were very similar to the prior dyno runs.

Good. I'd done a lot of searching of what I wanted and my tuner felt this was a good cam. I waited a while so he could test on his car and is just as you say, very driveable. It's his daily driver as well. His car has ported and polished 243 heads though. I think he made 465/408 SAE on a dynojet.

Curious to know the overlap on it. Great numbers man, you gotta love better driveability with more power everywhere. That's my next plan as well.

This cam has 7 degrees of overlap. Nice dynograph!
