Firehawk M6 Dyno Results (Patrick G Cam)
I got the car dynoed a few weeks ago, before the cam I dynoed 344rwhp/356rwtq, and after only adding a 224/230 .609/.604 113+2LSA cam (and supporting mods) and EFI live re-tuning, here are the results:
Well, I am definitely happy with the +45rwhp gains, but only +15 rwtq just seems a little low considering I gained a whopping 45rwhp..
Why do you guys think I only gained 15rwtq? Do you think my exhaust is just too restrictive?
I've seen a few other cars on here with this cam, and they seem to have gained quite a bit more power... Here are a few of the posts:

Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I think there's still more work to be done with your tune since you are getting lean up top. My tuner made the most power at 12.5-12.8:1, running a tad more timing (versus 13:1 and less timing.) I also have LS6 heads which are more matched with this cam on the top end.

Comparing to the LS6 and LS2 powered Corvettes is not exactly an ideal comparison since they both have higher compression and better flowing heads, but your 45 rwhp gain is not out of line for cams of this size. I'd be interested to see what the weather conditions were between your before and your after dyno runs. If there's a big difference in density altitude, sometimes the weather station dyno software does give you an accurate correction from one day to another. I've seen the same car on the same dyno with no changes in mods dyno 20 rwhp less on a hot muggy day verses a cool dry day. The car didn't change so the dyno should have corrected for the weather, but sometimes it's not the case.
So how does the car drive with the new cam?

I still think there's a solid 25rwhp/25rwtq to be gained with box stock LS6 heads.

Hey guys,
I did the tunework. With my wideband installed pre-cat I was reading 12.9-13.1 at WOT. This way probably measured with a sniffer in the tailpipe on a car with cats. Car is at 28-29* at WOT, running 91 Octane and our weather here is very humid and muggy. I tuned the car on the street, car feels great. I'll post up the tune if you guys would like to take a look.

Not lately anymore.. Maybe we need to raise my idle or something next time..
It seems that the change in weather or something has put my idle to the dumps, I would say that the RPMs bounce up and down after slowing down more than they don't.. I've just been too lazy to mess with that screw on the TB again..

Nice numbers John...maybe when I get back we can line 'em up! How are you liking the new setup?

Tune looks solid. The only things I'd change would be, make the IAT spark retard less aggressive. -3 degrees at 50C (122 F) seems a little too aggressive. Be more aggressive on the spark idle under-speed. It should match the over-speed spark. The EGR spark table should be zeroed out. VE tables look nice. I'm assuming stock or small injectors.

Good numbers. 390rwhp cam only is strong. Remember, don't get to caught up in the dyno numbers. Take it to the track (or your local street races if you are inclined) and base your judgment on that.

when i was bolt ons i made 346hp and 355 tq
then same dyno with a 232/234 110+3 it made 388hp 367tq
then i went to another dyno w/ no changes it made 382hp and 351tq, after he got dont with it it made 388hp 361tq
both dynos where mustang dynos. also mine is a 98, w/ no ud pulley, also has ls7 clutch (few lbs more), pst driveshaft (2lbs more) and a 9" with a truetrack diff and 3.90s
3675 raceweight and best mph on street tires is 116. with room to improve i think i can do 117-118
some more insight. same dyno
PRC LS6 heads & 228/230 XE-R 112lsa cam, TSP ported LS6 oil pump/LS2 chain, comp 850's, chromoly pushrods, .040 cometics
that with stock rear made 406 hp 373 tq with ls6 intake/ported tb
