Default New Dyno #'s TR220 and P.P 5.3's (sheet posted now!)

I took the car back to the dyno today (bama mafia dyno day), since last time I have added 3 things. 1)ASP pulley, 2)Thunder Racing Ported TB, and 3) Yella Terra Rocker arms. Last time I dyno'd 403rwhp and 384rwtq, today I did 3 pulls 412rwhp, 416rwhp, and 411rwhp. Torque was 392, 389, and 391. So I gained about 10rwhp and 8rwtq peak from the new mods. But what amazed me was how much I picked up in the lower RPMs in a couple of places I gained 15rwtq, so the improvements were not just peak numbers. Of the three mods, I think most of my gain was from the pulley, the TB may have helped some and I don't think the rockers were good for any power, but the valve train is much more quiet now. And BTW, I'm still on stock programming!! The rev limiter REALLY needs to be moved up a little. I think with some LS1edit work and one of those cool new Electric water pumps.. I could bump 420rwhp with the "baby" TR220.

So there is some hope for us guys that haven't made the step to a 230+ duration and .59x lift cam yet!!

I'll post up the comparison graph Tuesday when I get to work (no scanner at home).

Programming alone will most likely put you over the 420rwhp mark!

Easily ... I have seen most people pull 15-20 rw from tuning alone. I would assume you could possibly hit 425-430 with some good tuning, and a higher rev limiter.

I have been thinking about those patriot heads, and this might be the kick I needed. Nice nums.

Hey those are some good numbers from the little cam.... I bet your graph is much smoother due to those rockers, but I want to be sure so is it? Seems like those Patriot heads work really well.

The "before" and "after" graphs both look pretty smooth, one thing I did notice was that today's graphs didn't have a "spike" at the end like last times.

Nice numbers especially for that cam but even with a bigger cam they are still respectable #'s, grats on the setup.

Gomer-Thanks man,the wheels are Boyd Coddington Blasters. We unfortunately do'nt have ls1 edit in the shop form, but have it for my personal cars.So using it is not a prob.I bet you would have pulled 420 today if you'd had more than a 10 minute cool down after the trip down.

How about some track times to validate that power? TIA

dont worry carter, some times you wont get more from tuning if your timing is at 28 degrees and a/f is around 13. Tuning should get the idle and drivability better, Gomers car runs very well, he may not pick up anything from tuning either

Gomer your car is a top runner, I would of liked to see what it did with the ported tb, yella terras and pully before the heads. When are you installing a 230 cam

My car isn't a "track car" it is set up to race from a "roll" I still have the stock rear in it, but there are SEVERAL cars around that have "validated my power" firsthand by getting by it. I've only had to use the nitrous kit to outrun one car... and that was my own supercharged mustang. Btw.. I wasn't driving both cars at the same time!

ne1.. I'll be adding a large cam soon, I just haven't made up my mind which one I'll go with yet.

John, I know what you mean about the cooldown, I drove 75 miles in 90degree heat, sat in the parking lot 10 mins.. strapped down, made my pulls and then drove 75 miles home.. checked my fuel mileage and still got 26mpg!! Love that!
