Default Dyno Numbers 224

Well took my car to the dyno the motor is a 59k ls1 with bolt ons and a TR224/224 that was suppose to have qtp stage 2s but from the numbers I hit it doesnt.

366.8 HP
346.8 TQ

Through a T56 and a 9" with 4.11s.

it might pick up some power if it actually had some fuel in it.

That's in the ballpark of what I'd have guess for that setup through that drivetrain.

Cam only with the TR224, I did 38Xrwhp/370rwtq. Something ain't right in Kansas Dorthy.

So are you saying you bought the car this way, and that is what you were told?

Those #'s are weak for a cam only/ bolt on car. W/ even budget heads you should be over 400rwhp. Mods in sig, I'm 432rwhp/403rwtq.

that is low.

I run a com 224r ( 224/224 581/581 112 ) on 243 heads, LTs and am just over 400 rwhp and 400 rwtq.

Seen lots of 224s in the low 420s rwhp.

even with a LS1 with 59K, it should be higher. should be close to 385-400

Get a new air filter and retune.

Good Luck

You guys have to note the 9" rear, that's probably costing you 20whp right there. Those numbers arn't bad considering the rear.

If it makes you feel any better, theres about 10+ft lbs and at least as much hp on the table there from fueling alone if that wide band is telling the truth.

Also, pull the car over 5900 and find plenty more as well. If your car was tuned and dyno'd like others in this forum, you'll probably find you are on par with average 224 cam only setups.

Ya rear is pry robbing 20 HP. We added 10 % of fuel and lost 10 hp.

I just had my TR224 112lsa retuned today and put down 38x torque and 400RWHP. I run 243 cnc heads and Strange 12 bolt 4.11 gears.
Just to give the OP some more info.

generally...
lean = hp
rich = tq

adding fuel will only make the tune safer and most likely drop hp. could possibly add some more timing, i dunno - i didn't tune it.

why did you only make the pull to 5800 rpm? it looks like you'd have a pretty good curve up to 6500 or so.

details on the car would be nice. who tuned it? what headers and exhaust? 224 on a 114 or 112?

Why was the car only run to 5800 RPM or so? My 224/228 cam doesn't peak until about 6400 and I can't see that one peaking too much earlier (low 6000 range anyways). Was the car tuned for this cam?

The car should pull easilly to 6800rpm with that Cam.I bet the peak HP would of been higher if it was reved out. Looks good to me.

Also,IF the wideband is right the A/F should be richer down low,if it dropped power it needs more timing.
