Default 786 rwhp, stock bottom end!

Last night we had the pleasure of tuning the 00 FRC of V-Series Tech.

The car has a stock 05 LS6 bottom end, stock crank, rods and pistons.

AFR 205s, Thunder Trak cam, Fast 90/LS2 90 TB. and a honkin pair of 67 mm Precision Turbos.
We were hoping to keep boost to a sane level, but knew going into it that we may not have enough WG to control those monsters, and we were right....

On the first full pull, it made like 740 rwhp, and spun the tires bad up top....
Follow up pull made 786 rwhp/697 ft-lbs at 12 psi, backed up by a 783/697 pull, at the same repeatable 12 psi.

Its running a whopping 12° max timing, and a nice fat A/F until around 5800 RPM where fuel pressure started to drop off due to not enough pump. (He's adding a bosst-a-pump today to attempt to alleviate this situation).

Also, just to pour some fuel on the coming fire....this was on 100% 93 octane PUMP gas, no meth...and, through a stock GM 85mm MAF....

Upgraded in tank pump, Racetronix hot-wire kit, and Mototron 60# injectors....maxed out.
Injectors were at about 85% DC....pump was running out of steam.

Well Mike I have to say thanks to your for getting J back on the street and running safely. That is until he hits the gas then all liability is on him.

On the BAP thats going in today do you really think that will be enough ??
If not then what options? Second fuel pump to maintain pressure, and larger injectors ??

Lastly, what kind of IAT's were logged, and is there any room under the hood for METH ?

Excellent job to all the guys at Diablosport!!! I am willing to bet that J is still smiling............................

The BAP should help, but is not a cure all.
Definitely time to look into a return style system and a stand-alone regulator.

The injectors seem to be fine at this power level, maybe good to about 800 rwhp with proper pressure.

As for IATs...dont recall what they were, but damn, that intercooler kicks some serious ***...you could grab the discharge pipes right after a full pull and they were cool to the touch, we were all very impressed with the intercooler.

I'm no fan of Meth, and why bother?
We dont want/need more timing, and there is plenty of fuel, I'd rather leave that type of crutch for a car that really needs it....

That is very impressive indeed, I would be surprised if makes a number of passes at the track w/o letting go on pump fuel though.

He is under strict orders to short shift it around 5500...lol, he'll have to deal with only 700 rwhp....

Thanks guys for all of the compliments. I can't speak highly enough of the crew at diablosport. Truly, a bunch of knowledgable *************. I can't get over the results,....we were shooting for 650 at the tires,....didn't think we'd be a 137hp over that. We did what we could to get rid of the power but, everything these guys did,..it just kept building power. We were joking about how messed up it is,......to actually be in a postition of trying to get rid of horsepower. never been there before myself.

Last night on the way home it was wet outside so,..I couldn't feel the car at all. I just cruised home at 80-110mph... slow and steady,...like a cadillac. No hiccups,...no issues,...nada. Car ran awesome....tune is spot on for such a retarded setup.

However....right before it started to rain again today,...I grabbed my trainee,...and we hopped in the vette for a quick ride. Well....I gotta tell you,....what a wicked *** ride this thing just turned into. Talk about jeckyll and hyde.... loss of traction rolling into the throttle in 3rd gear from 3500rpm's and up. At WOT,....the car diced over two lanes(I was pointing straight when it happened). Pretty wild...yet easly recoverable. We did that a few times...just to get a feel for it but,....honestly,...these michelin pilot 335's suck pinga. ZERO traction.

Anyways,...guys, diablosport,...everyone, thank you very much. Look out liter bikes.

Liter Bikes?
Better shoot higher than that Mr. Stormtrooper....

I'd hate to be the chump in an Enzo when you roll up next to him....or a Carrera GT.
May have to go swing by Dougs shop to see if he has any retarded TT Vipers laying around to find a good race, LOL.

Well, true. With 615 with the procharger at the wheel,...it was neck and neck with several CBR1000rr's on the highway,..up until higher speeds where they'd fall back. Gixxer 1000's would actually put two cars on me then their pull would stop.... so.. busa's and gixxers?....

You know me,...i'm always looking for the local exotic crew. Maybe this friday night we'll get to the show a lil early,..and start trolling for some good video cars.

Nice #'s.

You should be able to pull on the older 1000's with 700 rwhp FRC. Against a new (07+) GSXR 1K or Kawi ZX-10 and a good rider you'll need 800+ bare minimum. You'll eat 600cc's lunch all day though.

Congrats
