Default Who should win this race.

I have a 2002 camaro ss A4 with lid, cutout, hp tune, Cats!. I ran a 13.14 @ 105.45 before the cutout. So I should be 106 or so now. My buddy has a 96 mustang with a pi swap,5 spd, full boltons, 3.73 gears rear suspension and slicks. Right now i beat him by 4-5 lengths from a dig to 110 or so. He is adding a 125 wet shot and I am adding a SS4000 converter and m/t drag radials. Who should win at the track.

W/a cutout & 4000 stall and drag radials you should p/u close to a 1sec and you freind w/ NOS should gain 1sec so you will win again by atleast 2 car lenght's.

you should win. you will be able to 60' his *** sooooo bad.

he wont be able to spray off the line without tons of wheelspin, so all you have to do is launch it, and kep you foot planted, and watch that mustang turn into a spec in you mirror

So far without nos his best 60' is a 1.95. Mine without a converter is a 2.030 on street tires spinning. My race weight is 3600 and his is 3415. So not a whole lot of difference. According to his injector duty cycle he is around 290-300 horse at the crank. With nos he will be around 415-425 horse. My car right now is around 400-415 and with a cutout open it should be around 425-435. So power to weight is very similar I think. Like I said without nos it isn't much of a race right now. So I think my converter will overcome his nos. It will be fun.

Just whats in my sig. I have a cutout added now. But thats just a rough guess. I'm guess anywhere from 415 to 435 at the crank.

I am guessing just cause I don't know for sure what a cutout adds. Might be a little high. I know without the cutout I was sitting right around the 400-410 mark.

I hope so. I am pretty sure on the street from a roll the mustang will pull me pretty good. But just as long as at the track my times are better I will be happy.

You should win by 2 or more if you'll be running slicks also.

Well Guys I don't have my stall in yet but with just the M/T's I beat him on the street by a few lengths, But He ran out of nos in the end of 3rd around 80 mph. So we will have to race again when he refills his bottle. Don't think it will matter though 1st gear I pulled him like 2-3 lengths. When the stall goes in this weekend off the line will be horrible for him. I'll keep you posted.

Depending on your DA, if your buddy can't run low 13s with those mods I'm kinda surprised. If he has longtubes he's probably putting around 275rwhp and has 3.73s and slicks. But regardless, that 125 shot is gonna be a big hit, especially with his slicks. Should be a good race.

Our D/A is a killer. We have one of the slowest tracks on the Division 5 race, according to the drivers anyhow.

Typical D/A at our track is around 3500FT on a decent day. We have had many Stock PI GT's (99-04, 260HP) that usually run high 14's for the 5 spd's. Had an '03 Cobra last year with only a CAI that ran 13.4@105.

The car Jared is referring to I installed the Zex kit on, and did a majority of the mod's along with his help. It had a previous average of 14.6@91 i believe with full boltons and the stock NPI motor. We've since added the PI heads+Cam+Intake swap and the Zex 125.

It definately should be an interesting race, however with the LS1 car's capable of 1.6 60' and the 'Stang not spraying 1st I think Jared will get out far enough ahead to beat him to the stripe.

Video to come soon!

With those slicks he should be able to pull a 1.7-1.8 60' I would think. The clutch is going to be the weak/give point, so he won't be in too much trouble of snapping an axle I wouldn't think.

The Clutch is a stage III dual friction rated at 500+ hp, with a Fidanza alum. Flywheel.

Ought to be interesting!
