Default car just wont run...

Didnt really know what section to put this is so im putting it here. My car has got me puzzled. Ive got a 00 ws6, a4, hedman lt's and y-pipe and magnaflow, ls6 intake, mti lid, rebuilt trans and the car will not run for ****!
best it has been with all of this is 8.91 @ 82 mph with a 2.06 not spinning much at all...very sad i know. no, the car has not been tuned yet but geez it should def be running 10x better than this untuned i think, maybe ive just got the slowest ls1 car produced, hell idk, just aggravating.

Your problem is obvious. You're a Cards fan!

J/K I'd say get a tune and get it on they dyno to see exactly what's going on before getting too depressed about this.

WHat do you consider running like ****?...you mean under normal driving, or simply the ETs/TS?

I'll presume your times. I fyou expected more..what's the DA of hte track?....and YES, a Tune will benefit ALOT. It amazes me how many guys on this site do a bunch of mods without tuning it.

Stock stall and gears?

Honestly, I think the 'gains' you were looking for are being left on teh table from not having a custom tune. The HP gains that are advertised are both 'best case' and mod with a Tune.

Get a custom dyno tune done, and I bet you'll see better numbers.

yea the stall might as well be stock is around 2400-2600 nothing crazy at all...the guy that redid my trans has a yank 3800 he said i could put in and try out to see if id like it..he seems to think itll be too much for the car but from what ive read i disagree. should i tune it before the converter being that i may not keep it? or wait?? thats what has me thinking...

I'd wait until after. I dont' see why a 3800 would be bad. Either way, I'd swap it in and go for a test drive. Just keep in mind that you still won't get teh full feeling until you've got it tuned. What rear gears do you have or better yet, which ones are you planning on going with?

That may be why he said 3800 is too much. that's his opinion and you'll just have to ask around.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest because I'm not all to familiar with tuning perimeters with autos, but it would be best to do so.

I sent an email to a guy named Darrin that does ALOT with AUtos. I'm not sure if he does only mustangs, or GMs too. I'll letyou know what he says.

STALL!!!!

I had a 99 Z28 with about the same mods as you, and when I slapped a Yank PT4000 stall in it I dropped 7 tenths in the quarter and was pulling 1.7 60's.

Stall will work wonders on that car. get the 60 down, and a good stall and you will be set!
