Default 04 Cobra Vs Stalled, spray LS1

Okay so this guy at my shop is picking up a 04 Cobra Vert, it has 515 to the wheels not sure on all mods but I know it has 4:10 gears and a stock clutch but it has 515 RWHP.

My Trans Am is a Full exhuast, Lid, NX wet kit will spray 125 shot, and a 3400 stall converter will run M/T E/T streets. This will be tuned I haven't tuned it yet tho.

Do you think I can give him a run?

Go from a dig and i bet you will jump out on him pretty hard. I bet you can hold him off unless you race to high speeds.

Dig is your best bet, he should have you out powered a little bit on the top end, but a hard launch on drags w/ converter, gears and spray should pull out front pretty hard.

No way he can keep up with ya if yall run 1/4 unless he is an A+ driver but if you go from a dig to over 120 he is going to fetch you.

Go from a stop or a very slow roll. Maybe up the shot to a 150 just in case. Don't be intimidated by his power. Most Cobra's don't seem to use their power as well as we do, especially the convertible cars for whatever reason.

Oh yeah, what brand converter?

Unless he's running a 28" tire, he's running way too much gear. That 4.10 is going to make launching impossible on a 26" drag radial with all the low end torque from the roots blower. Bad choice on his part. Given that, run him from a dig. I suspect that you'll stomp him considering you have a stalled automatic and he's not going to get out of the hole well.

If you go from a roll, make sure it's a slow roll...like 15mph. He'll smoke
the tires and you'll walk right past him. Don't run him from a 35+ roll.

+1

Except......since this car will be new to him, I'd bet you have a 'decent' shot even from a 35+ roll. Once he gets seat time, you wont' have a shot at that roll.

A lot of people are running 4.10s that shouldn't be.

He is just running street tires so he will have no traction, I saw the car yesterday and it's a cream puff.

The guy works in my shop and won't shut his mouth about how bad *** he and his new car is. He has a huge head about it, so I would love to hurt his feelings with my T/A that I have less than 7k in.

4.10's, a stock clutch, 500rwtq at 2,00rpm, and street tires. Brilliant. Kick his ***.

Since it's gonna be a dig race I'd put my money on you. What's up with people driving high hp cars and not even throwing a set of drag radials on their car?
