Ok I will admit I was impressed by the 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 vs 2010 Camaro SS lS3 in the motortrend comparison. The Mustang ended up beating the Camaro rather easily with a 12.7 1/4 mile time from the Mustang and a 13.0 from the Camaro. However I was just looking at the new Car and Driver comparison and the Camaro beat the Mustang! They both reached 60 mph in the same amount of time but the Camaro began pulling and beat the Mustang by .2 at the 1/4 mile mark. 13.0 for the Camaro and a 13.2 for the Mustang. So your guess is as good as mine which car is actually faster in the 1320.I am going to go out on a limb and say the Camaro SS is still the faster car.

Well bottom line...let them settle it at the drag strip Besides nobody stays bone stock.Just was confused how Car and Driver was .5 slower with the GT than Motortrend got out of it. The Camaros time was identical at 13 flat.

Jesus...there aren't even this many threads devoted to the new mustang on Corral.
To respond to the OP, they then got another model (BONE STOCK TRIM) and ran a 13.0 as well, it's the same session as the one Edmunds did a report on...next person who starts a new Mustang thread is getting pistol whipped!!

Is it *****-envy or fear.......
Considering the '11 GT has already gone a best of 12.6x BONE STOCK and multiple 12.7-12.8's out of private owners and with a much higher average trap than the '10 Camaros, I'd go out on a limb and say its definitely quicker. Similar power, 2xxlbs LESS, steeper gearing in the transmission and rear end makes for a much quicker car.

I'd agree...and people get so caught up in it too...it's like...the Camaro has had years that it's been faster, the Mustang has had years when it's been faster...it's not like this is the last revision of either car that will ever happen and they are stuck like this forever...sheesh.
