I've ran 2 stock ones and the 06 Zo6 pulled alittle bit, but i pulled an 08 Zo6. My 02 Zo6 makes 455 wheel and only one track pass 123mph.

Im very happy you mentioned this..As I have been saying it all along..when the c6z06 hit the scenen in 2006 it was a 3130 pound feather weight..trapping 125-127 mph in all the mags...

but by 2007 you saw no more 127 mph trapp speeds..not even 126 mph trapp speeds..Now all the mags were 123-125..

WHY????/

Simply put their is nothing really speacial about a 445 rwhp car with 3.42 gearing...many of you on thise site have that combo or even more power and more agressive gearing..

What was special was the 3130 pounds...

Simply put..they added sound deadening to quiet the ride as well as a differant steering set up...And the car now weigh 3200 plus pounds..

Dosent sound like a lot. Your talking maybe 100 pounds added...but that 100 pounds on a vehicle that is really so fast only because of the light weight was a devastateing blow...

I saw quite a few reviews of 07's and 08's only trapping 122-124 mph...far away from the 2006's

and have the drive mod

You just can't beat the Mid range power and TQ from the damn 427ci LS7

IMO For F-body you need 40-50rwhp to beat/ keep up with C6 ZO6 from 50-160mph also driver mod is a must ZO6 can pull all the way to 160mph in 4th gear if drive of F-body slow shifted from 4th to 5th gear say around 140mph he will LOSE...

Enjoy

That was a great video, your C5 sounds bada55 and you were rowing those gears good too.

Here’s a couple of quarter mile logs. One is a Camaro or F-body with heads/cam, FAST 92/92 4000 stall, 4.11s and around 3400 pounds running a 10.99 @123 mph.

The other is 2006 Z06 with ported intake and headers. I believe is running around 11.2 at 123 mph.

They were not racing each other.

You’ll notice the stalled auto kills the Z06 out of the hole, but after 80 mph the Z06 will walk the stalled auto even with the Z06 shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

So my guess is: in addition to heads/cam/intake you’ll need a stalled auto to get a Z06 in the quarter.

If you compare C6Z06s vs LS1s time slips for the last 1/8 in the quarter mile, you’ll probably see what Killemall is talking about .

But I have no problem believing a well setup fbody can hurt a C6 Z06, like the one in the vid. Its only a matter of traction/Suspension/Tires/Trans on the 1/4 IMO. A roll would be another story...

I ran a 12.6@117 with a shitty 2.2 60ft and I cant say I would kill a Z06. I'd say if the driver is any good and got traction, I'll look pretty bad compared to him. But still, I have no traction too..
That is what i was thinking and Hoping, I have about that to the tires, and have been looking for one, but hoping on a bed driver ... cantblame me ..lol JK

the z06 looked like it pulled around 2 cars every time...And thats a 3280 pound .29 drag C5....

Those cars are beaste..Even in stock form...I was gonna add a 2001 c5Z06 to my dream stable one day..But I might just have to change that to a C6Z06

there is two 07s that trapped 126 and an 08 that trapped 127 and an 09 that also trapped 126... im sure there are few more, but you are right not many really!

and because they added the power seats on 07+... and auto close rear hatch on 09s. also a new tranny on 08+

What, with regard to the LS7 would cause inferior specific-output power production when compared to a built LS1?
Hp/ci.? Really?

A 600rwhp LS7 is more doable but at that level of airflow, even a FAST 102mm cannot keep up and tailors off... killing that extra 10-15rwhp you need to hit a 600rwhp SAE.

For example, RR punisher cam, RR heads with a fast 102 will hit about 593rwhp SAE. That car, with stock weight, will run about a 140mph trap... still not impressed?

Also, killemall... a stock 08 3lz locally went 11.1's @ 128mph stock with DR.

My 98 Z28 with a cammed LS3 and T56 (465 at the tire) would put half a length on stockish Ls7 Z06s, spinning through first. This was from the dig to about 100, IIRC...in Mexico. I only wish my current ride was that quick. hehehehe

LOL, indeed!

My h&c 99 TA has edged out C55Z's before with basic bolt ons like catback & intake 2 out of 4 times. With a good tune or headers all of the C5Z's would have been quicker. The [B]C6Z[/B is way too fast for my h&c TA. The only way my h&c 99 TA as is could beat a C6Z would be due to C6Z driver error.
