Default tryin to run down a Z06

Well here's the deal. My cousins husband has an 08 Z06, cammed and a few other things putting down around 550 rwhp. He ran 7.2 it the 1/8th spinning all the way through the traps. Currently I have a full weight 99 z28 with a 224/236 cam, ss3600 and 3.73 gears. Whats it going to take to run with him? I'm looking toward nitrous. What do you think?

With a good NA tune, a good quality wet nitrous system you can go much faster than a 7.2 on the stock long block plus your cam. Ask me how I know

I think I'm going to start at a 150 until I can forge and do heads and a bigger cam. I love the stock cubes. Carter01, how much are you spraying?

250 right now, probably going to stick with my current tune-up for a while until I reach my stock long block plus cam goal of 9s. I might try to up the shot later on but I know the stock ls6 intake and stock 853s eventually won't keep up with the spray.

a 150 shot should be more then enough, make sure you spent some time getting it to launch while spraying out of the hole and dont look back. Weight reduction is also a very good way to improve times for very little coin.

I'll stay around 150-175 tell I can get something forged. I have to keep in mind he did the 7.2 spinning the whole time. I need to beat him if he hooks haha. can I do this with forged bottom, heads and a bigger cam on a 150-200 shot. I want to do this on 91 pump gas too.

I always have my eye out for good deals. I can always get a junk yard 6.0 if I needed.

your ls1 is fine, you dont need anything else. Like i said if your trying to beat him in the 1/8th all you need to do is 60ft pretty well and i doubt he will catch up.

I do have the advantage of being a stalled auto vs a m6 too. I'm going to try some mt radials first and if they dont work out I will go to slicks.
