Default Little concerned about power

Today i was helping my friend do some work on his 1995 Mustang gt 5-speed. and i began to grow a little concerned.

He has a cobra intake, short throw shifter, CAI, new plugs, wires, distributor, 3.73 gears, strange shocks, equal length headers, h-pipe and a flowmaster exhaust.

i have a 1999 Camaro z28 6-speed, new plugs wires, lid, fuel filter. so pretty much stock.

this is just a weird question but i know my car has 3.42 gears in the back but when we took them out today i noticed a serious lacking from my camaro it just didn't have that "throw you in your seat" factor that his 1995 had.

it just made me wonder about if something might be wrong or is it because of the gearing and such that my car felt so much slower than his i guess in the long run it doesn't really matter but just wanted to get people opinions on the matter.

either way i still love the Camaro more than the mustang, just curious.

considering your car probably has over 100 more wheel horsepower than his car i wouldnt be too worried about it

torque curve of ls1s are steady and gradual and stock lightly modded have a different feel to them than other motors.

get some 4.10s youll notice a difference.

It is the gears..... basically a torque multiplier.

Save up for a strong rear before you swap gears.

The butt dyno can be misleading, especially with LS1 cars for some reason. I was not really impressed with my car until I took it to the drag strip and saw what it did to Mustang GTs. If you would've raced your buddy then you would not have made this thread.
