98 trans am with headers and ls6 intake and the same size maf and tb as the 02

or

02 trans am with headers (same as the 98 trans am has)??

Everything else being the same (ie suspension, headerback exhaust, tune, weight, transmission)

Just curious since the 98 had a bigger cam, but the heads supposively were better in the 00-02's??

the stock cam in the early ls1s are not really that much bigger and the heads are the same exact heads.

the difference was the old ls1 had the bigger cam and ls1 intake
the newer ls1s had the smaller cam but the ls6 intake and power stayed the same
there really was no real power difference

Thanks for that info, I was told the early heads weren't as good as the later ones, so a 98 with a ls6 intake and headers might slightly outpreform the 02 with headers?

yup but relitbly by only 5 hp or so, not enouph to ever notice, whoever gets the jump and will win

and also whoese ever engine is running the most effecient and less worn out

The 02 already has the LS6 intake and some claim that the 241s flow a few
cfm better than the 853s (98-00) by virtue of a cleaner casting. Don't know if
it's really enough to make a noticeable power gain.
