Default 440cu/in LS1 thoughts?

So I have a spare LS1 block. Its just a short block right now, nothing wrong with it. My thought is to send it to ERL for a superdeck and 4.185 bore, forged pistons and 4" crank, ally rods, AI LS7 heads, fast 102 and matching cam. I care more about power everywhere rather than all up top. Will this make 600rwhp and 580ftlb? I also plan to spin it to 8K, so the top end will be top notch. Not sure a fast 102 is the right intake either.

Or just throw some AI 243's on it, matching cam, and let it eat? I want to pull my current motor for some more usable torque and keep it as a spare. Its a stock 346, 228/232 110lsa, home ported heads, LS6 intake.

If your goal is 600 at the wheels the rectangle port heads will be a must. I think 243s and a good cam on top of 440ci would still get you over 500 RWHP.

give them a call, they will probably suggest you not start with that block... but anything is possible!
