Default 03 Z06 vs 08 M5

Not sure if i got it posted in the right section if not i apologize in advance. I didnt want to put it in the kill section since it hasnt happened yet. Well after having my camaro for a couple of years one of my friends did pretty much all he could to avoid racing me with my nitrous. I had full bolt ons in my 01 Z28 M6 with 150 shot. I think me and him knew if everything operated fine it would've been an easy win for me. So now that i have almost a completely stock 03 Z06 he is the first to hit me up and wants to run me in his M5.

All he has is RPI scoops(intake mod) i think and Eisenman Exahust sorry for the spelling. He will want to race me from 40-140-150mph. I already pretty much know with just Vararam Intake, TI mod and Tune i wont stand a chance especially at higher speeds. he is most likely around 440 rwhp and im if lucky about 370-375rwhp, lol. I know im lighter but he definitly has better gearing. How many car lengths do you think i will lose by, im guessing from 40-140mph 3-4 cars easy. He is saying i will lose by bus lengths, honestly i wont be suprised if i did, lol.

Should be a close race 370rwhp @ 3300lbs vs. 440rwhp @ 5,000lbs?

Run from 45mph, its the C5Z's sweet spot at about 4k rpm. You'll pull about a car instantly and he'll be playing catch up till you run out of gear in 4th gear. Not enough time or speed for the 7 speed to be much of an advantage.

As long as you stay off the limiter, I can't see him beating you more than a car. Post up the vid.

I think the M5 weighs about 4012 lbs and with 500hp. It does the quartermile in 116mph mid 12's. Hes has RPI scoops for the intake and has exhaust. Mine will just have Vararam, Tune and Ti mod which again doesnt give any power and my car weighs about 3100lbs no driver. I have nitrous im not worried about power since i can always install it down the road, right now im just happy i got the car and just getting the feel for it. I want to race him motor with a couple of mods. Im pretty sure i will lose, especially once i get into 4th gear. His car pulls really well up top so will see.

I do miss the camaro, it sounded nice it was a more comfortable seating position for me atleast, the shifter in the vette is a bit far back for me. I think once i get the TI mod were you bypass the muffler and get that extra sound from the exhaust, tune then i wont be missing the Z28. Its no doubt faster then the Z28 well motor to motor, hehe. The car feels very nimble for sure, im still holding on the the nitrous will see if i ever re install it on my Z06 or not. Its got an exhaust leak and rear end links need to be fixed before i do anything else.
