Default 98 Z28 A4 vs 00-02 Lightning

There's a kid at school with a 00-02 Lightning I believe, and I've been trying to get a race with him. My car is a 1998 Z28 A4 15K miles with 3.23s stock down to the paper filter.. Btw I haven't changed the oil and it's real dirty if it matters.
I asked if the truck had any mods and all he says "idk that's how we bought it".
But it sounds like it has a catback or a muffler..
We're racing this Saturday btw, we aren't taking any passengers..

Should I go with a roll or dig?
And what roll speed would be good for me?
What should the outcome be?

Good race I think, but if your car is in healthy shape and his is stock you should have him by a few cars. More if his engine is hot and heat soaked.

Thanks, I'm hoping to take the win tomorrow.
I think I'm going to be doing both roll and dig.. But what ROLL SPEED is BEST for me?

Well, I finally got the chance to race him yesterday..
1st race was a 20 roll, all the way to 100. I put about 3-4 car lenghts on him not so sure..
2nd race was from a dig, I couldn't really here when he was saying the countdown but as soon as I saw him launch, I floored it and spun a little. I had already passed him by the beginning of 2nd gear. Put about 3 car lenghts on him, I had to brake cause there was a bump stop ahead.
When he sends me the videos I'll try to share them through here..
