Default Need help from anybody with a lift or good with LT install

I am planning on ordering my deaders this weekend, I was wondering if anybody would mind helping me install my Lt's sometime in december I would like to install them on Dec. 12 or 13 (friday or sat) or anytime really in december after the 8th( i am done my finals for college that day)

If anybody has a lift that would not mind helping me and letting me use it that would be the best and i might be able to pay a little, or even if anybody would like to help i never put lt's in a car that had no room only on my 68 chevelle i used to have and i do not want to mess it up. So if anybody can help i can drive a good bit i do not mind, Or even if a couple people would like to come to my house and do it in my garage, and see if everybody could bring a couple tools that they know or think would make the job easier but i should have everything i would need. I could have my dad run out and grab a case of beer for everybody or even if i drove out to someones garage i could have him grab me a case a beer for everybody.

If anybody could help this would mean the world to me because i do not want to mess up my car its my baby, and i know they said a lift would be the best help, and i refuse to let a shop install them for me.

How come you refuse to have a shop install them. Sometimes its cheaper than you think.

Learning to do things on my own, or with friends have been the best investment in my life, why pay flat rate at $75 or higher and the service write/shop owner quote lower and legally go higher by 12% or so....

Beleive me, it sucks to do the work but I think there is a certain satisfaction in knowing you did it yourself.

Oh and I f*ckin hate cold concrete in the winter.

It's not as bad as a cold, gravel driveway

I definitely agree, though. The first time I ever put headers on a car was my TA last year. A couple buddies helped me out and it wasn't that bad. The hardest part was tightening up the header bolts. I'm happy I did them as opposed to taking it to a shop. I know there's a lot of shops on here that do a great job - I just want a car that's built by me.

Since then, I have done many, many other jobs with my friends and still feel I don't know anything. So if you don't care about satisfaction and just want it done, do not hesitate to take it to any of the other shops on here.

I am always willing to help with a header install. I got a garage with a pit. I usually make the person whos car is getting worked on by pizza for lunch or a case of beer.

My personal bane was soft, mud like dirt under gravel in the spring, the freakin car was sinking, 2 layers of card board saved my back and knees

Also to clarify, for those who do not have an area to work, or tools, or just isnt mechanically inclined, by all means seek a sponsor. I wouldnt want to show up to help and the guy has no tools or does want to help too.

I live in gap pa, i am not that far from DE, where in DE are you at?? This would be a great help i know alot of people say that a lift is the best bet to do headers. And Ya if anybody would want to help just post on here and i would be fine with buying everybody lunch and a case a beer and drinks, or even give gas money if they drove a good bit out of there way.

It also is just the fact i love to work on cars i started on a 78 corvette that my dad bought me when i was 14 i worked on that night and day until i got it running and in decent shape. I do not mind a shop i just like to work on cars my self and i just want a shop to tune my car and run it on a dyno its just a personal choice. I only take my car to a shop if i need tires put on or inspected.

Thank you Everybody this means alot to me and god bless you all.

LT1 headers do blow. I have done a few. On one car the header was interfering with the steering shaft. That was a long night...

It's not that hard.

Buy a Craftsman bolt out kit in case you break off or round off the heads on the manifold bolts.

Jackstands are high enough.

driver side header goes in w/rear of header facing the front, then rotate in.

Passenger side slides right up.

What type of headers are you installing?
