The M/T ET Street Radials were designed for automatic cars. If your launching hard with a manual car you might want to go with something with a softer sidewall. The ET street radials have a hard sidewall. I ran the ET Street Radials on my M6 SS for a while but I'm now switching over to the Hoosier QTP's so I don't have slip the clutch on the launch. If you're an automatic car, I would say with out a doubt, go with the ET Street Radials.

Ummm let see.
Of ALL the DR I have driven, the one with the MOST flexible side wall was the m/t, which isnt the best that could be had but helps.
On a M6 car I am all for a Bias play, ET drag over ET streets
I havent used a QTP but I am sure it would work as well.
On my old 383 setup with mis-matched gears and stall, the car bogged on M/T street radials, since auto do not shock the tire as hard, you should be FINE, if an M6 car, it needs to be either light, superior suspension, or a less aggressive launch or a mixture of each.

i havent driven much on drag radials, i just got my first pair this summer the new 305/35/18 M/T ET Street and i LOVE the traction, cus i never had it before but i HATE the wishy washy loose feeling on the highway, when these wear out im going back to regular tires

The best tire that was better then a Eagle F1 was a Nitto when it came to the swaying.

That's where the NT555Rs seem to be a nice compromise. I went from street tires to those and it completely fixed my traction issues (granted I don't have huge power) and they don't seem much squishier than the regular street tires, although I did go from a 16" street tire to a 17" DR so there is a little less sidewall to begin with. Good handling is just as important to me as good hooking, for the reasons Chef stated.

Also right now I'm running BFG drag radials 315/35/17, I like these alot. I think they drive like regular street tires and have great traction on the street for my bolt-on car.
