i would personally buy the seadoo only because i have experience with those and they are a pretty reliable ski, especially those older ones. i wouldnt say fast though they dont have much power. 45mph absolute tops

The Polaris is a 2 seated isn't it? That's good for ocean riding by most of the 2 seaters are banned on the lakes

Neither one. As above, Sea Doo is the better choice hands down, that motor is pretty reliable. But it's definately slow, around 40MPH.

he hasn't answered where he is going to ride. If he is interested in just doing donuts and wave jumping in the ocean than 40 mph is fine and I would pick the smaller lighter ski.

If his intention is to go out on a lake or river and do high speed runs I would go with a higher cc machine. I just sold my GP1300R a few weeks ago and in the ocean very few times could i keep it in the water enough to even get it up to 60+ unless it was calm.

i think i would skip both. try to find a 2 seater sea doo. the 2 seater will be funner to rip around, and either one is going to be hard in the ocean.
like mike said, if your looking to do the lakes. then you need a 3 seater.
you just want one so you can come meet us at winggi

Neither!!! Get a kawasaki, polaris and sea-poo are both expensive to get parts for. I bought two kawasakis and havnt looked back great skis my stxr1200 tops out at about 65-70mph planty fast on the water actually scary fast. And my sxr800 does about 55 which is fast on a stand-up ski

I wouldn't trade my XP for anything. I'd like to add an RXP to put along side it. Maybe one day I'll get rid of the XP for an XP DI. Although the old RXs were AWESOME.

They are usually a little more expensive for nicely maintained skis.

If you were dead set on a 3 seater, I'd step up a model and go with an older GTX.

im not dead set on anything. i just was lookin, i would be mostly using it in the merrimac. taking trips from haverhill to newburyport on it (about a 2 hour round trip) 45 mph is plenty fast for me. this is my first watercraft. i would prefer a 2 seater to just mess around with. but the biggest thing is reliability and good shape. i just want something i can do minimim maintence to (plug, battery, etc) stuff i can do myself and have it last a season or two or whenever i get sick of it. and i certainly dont wanna have the thing die on me in the middle of the river.

and yes i just want to get out there with noyzee lol

my boy is going to have his 20 foot 454 powered jet drive boat on the river soon!!! just got it running but the drive needs a rebuild. its pretty sick. put a big block making 400 hp and toss it on a pancake and thats what he has. lol

go with a 2 seater doo. doo rules!!!!! you can drop in the essex river and be at winggin in 20 min or less. thats where we drop, its a super easy ride and if you where 100% sure you where going, i could tell you how to get to the ramp, then call me when you get there, i will shoot over on my boat and you can follow me out. its very simple, but shallow. if i showed you once, you will see its easy, and probably come out and meet us every weekend. last year we had 25 boats all tied up together it was a crazy time!!

NH small lakes/ponds. I own a house on Lake Sunapee, and have several friends on Winnepesauke. 2 seaters aren't allowed in Harbors, but no one gives a **** as long as you aren't acting like the typical ******* on a PWC.

During the weekdays I'm out stunting/beating the **** out of my XP and the fuzz patrol pass right on by.

Just stay 150ft away from the shore, and watch your surroundings.

I guess mine goes 72MPH then too...on the speedo. Which is off at least 10MPH on 99% of these things.

Speedo doesn't mean **** unless its a GPS unit/gauge.
