Default Anyone ever had any bad experiences with Cartek?

Just kind of wondering. I got my car a little over a month ago, and they are only about 10 minutes from me. I was planning on bringing my car there to get dyno tuned, and know alot of people love them. I heard a bad story from someone looking at some parts I was selling, that seemed a little far fetched, and am just curious if anyone else has any horror stories? I'll quite honestly probably still bring my car to them because they seem like good guys, but I know there's always someone who has had bad experiences with even the best companies.

Even the best shops can't please everyone. I have only heard good things about them on the board. I think you will be in good hands.

Can't please everyone that's true.

I've been going there for 10 years.

Usually the stories are from people, who heard from other people, or read it on a forum.

Working in the industry, there are certainly some people who you CANNOT please. Not unless you give, and install everything for free. And sometimes that doesn't even work.

I wouldn't hesitate to go there. I've got a few buddies on LI who go there. Never heard anything bad.

i understand, I wasn't saying by any means that what I was told swayed my thought about having them tune for me, I've met some of the guys before and they seem to be cool and know their stuff

and ls1lt1, can i ask what you have done having run the 11.86 with the camaro? i see you have a mod list below it but would be amazed if that's all you had done

I had nothing but headaches and problems getting heads/cam/12 bolt/clutch, etc... Spent several thousand dollars and was barely able to drive my car for about two years and got ignoredand lied to over the phone on several occasions. I finally said that's enough when my torque arm fell off on the highway on the way home from their shop since they didn't feel like putting all four bolts back into my Moser 12 bolt (which had one of the axles hanging on by one crossthreaded bolt by the way). Ended up going to another northern NJ shop who isn't a sponsor on here any more and had almost all of the work redone with no problems.

Cartek would be a fine choice to have your car worked on.

Yes there are a few other things done, the car is a basic bolt ons car (but certainly NOT a full bolt ons car) meaning it still retains it's stock/OEM/untouched long block motor (bottom end, cam, cylinder heads and all) and it is also naturally aspirated (aka: no nitrous/turbo/supercharger etc.).
Just some QTP long tube headers/Y-pipe, high stall torque converter, LS6 intake, lid, underdrive pulley, 160* thermostat, drag radials/skinnies, some weight reduction and dyno tuning to tie it all together.

How is it so quick with so little work done you might ask?
Well, that's the awesome CARTEK TUNING of course!

Carteks site does say and qoute

" Come see for yourself, we have an open door policy. You don't have to buy anything to step through our doors. We are more than happy to show anyone around. We love taking the opportunity to get to know someone new in the automotive community and just talk cars. "

If you live that close to their shop it certainly wouldnt hurt to stop by and check it out your self..

I just got a dyno tune there a month ago to replace my previous tune the car runs a lot better and pulls way better..
My only complaint is they definitely need a Bigger Dam sign out a long the road so it is easier to see where they are LOL...
