Default Picked up a new daily driver - my first NEW car

2009 Honda Fit Sport.

I needed something that could carry all of my equipment for the band and still get good gas mileage. I ended up with something that could fit an INSANE amount of equipment and still get INSANE gas mileage. You wouldn't believe how much you can fit in this freakin car.

I traded in my 88 Formula through the Cash For Clunkers program and got $4,500 for it. You really can't beat that considering I only paid invoice for the Fit and $4,500 was a quarter of that. Plus the Formula probably wasn't even worth $500 in the condition it was in. More than anything, I just couldn't stand driving that Formula anymore with the horrendous WS6 suspension that made the world feel like it was coming to an end every time I hit a bump, the chipping paint and rusting issues, the exhaust rotting off, and the A/C broken.

Needless to say, I'm very happy with the purchase. My first NEW car. Oh yeah, and fully loaded with my equipment in the pouring rain, A/C on the whole way to Boston, I averaged just over 40 mpg with 200 miles on the car.

Nice. Stick shift? I'm getting a Ford Focus for my next daily driver. Looking forward to dumping my Escort. I wish it qualified as a "clunker".

Nah, auto. My Camaro is a 6-speed so I wanted my daily driver to be auto. I'll never buy a Focus. Had a bad experience with my Ex's Focus (or a LOT of bad experiences, rather...).

Let me go look. I paid invoice plus destination minus $4,500 cash for clunkers plus conveyance plus sales tax plus plate transfer.

I detailed one of those cars a month or two ago, i was suprised how solid the interior was. The steering wheel was very nice, especially the paddle shifters. It almost felt like the new evo's steering wheel.

Awesome, i gotta say this program worked out for me as well. last night i turned in my POS rusted broke *** 95 pathfinder for a new focus. sticker price of 18,500, 2,500 ford incentives, 4,500 clunker rebate and negotiated another 1,000 on top of that. 10,500 for a brand new car, freakin love it.
