So my buddy is selling a 2004 R6 that has been repainted by another friend of mine to a bright orange color. It's got new exhaust and some form of tuning added to it. It had one owner before the guy i'm planning on buying it from now. The bike has about 14k on it now with new tires, good clutch, new fluids, been scratched when dropped at a stop and then repainted the orange color. It needed zero body panels repaired and my close friend did all the repainting. He's selling it for about 3500 and from what i'm seeing it seems fair. I just got my license so i'm unsure what to think, what do you guys think about the deal?

I just paid 3300 for my 01 R1 13k miles custom paint/full exhaust/filter. 04 is FI so that is a big plus. A brand new paint job for a starter bike doesn't sound like a good idea though. Well...just have to use your noggin.

get it! My brother bought an 05 r6 2 years ago. Bike is Awesome!! He paid $4500 w/ 6k on it. Found some issues after he started working on it. Just make sure it wasn't crashed.

woo i'm glad you guys are saying so. I was gonna go check the bike out today but I got caught seing Iron man 2 and didn't have time. That movie was pretty cool BTW.

haha yeah fancy new paint, but if it gets messed up then my buddy will repaint it since he loves the bike too. Gotta love having paint shop friends Do you ever bring your bike to the chik-fil-a show in sterling?

Only had this bike a week, but are there a lot of bikes at that show? I used to hit manassas BK a lot but just haven't lately. Never been out to the chik-fil-a.

Always could use another riding buddy, if you do end up getting it let me know if you want to ride or meet up at the chik-fil-a.

The chik fil a show has a larger crowd than manassas for the most part. There are alot of domestic cars till about 7-730pm then it's mostly imports and bikes in the later part of the night. Ya i need to get some riding buddies if this goes through.

My friend painted his bike that color too bad my bike is faster... on a real note I def would get it you will not need much more power for at least 2 to 3 years then you might want a 1000 like I do. I still havent pushed mine to its limits so I am in no rush just starting to learn 2nd gear clutch ups. I rode a honda shadow for 2 years now 2 years on a 05 zx6r and wow what a difference.
