Default NYS new horrible 'yellow' plate will look horrible on my hawk!

It was bad enough I have to mount a white plate on the front end of my Black Trans AM Firehawk, but now this yellow looking tag is going to be the new thing sometime soon later this year!

Why is it again I live in New York?

I miss the all-black D.A.R.E. plates PA used to offer. Any chance you can get different colors by donating to a cause that has a state plate?

I have been driving for over a year with no front plate. Local cops and State cops could really care less. Until...I get pulled over by a female state trooper who has something to prove. $155 for no front plate. I put the plate back on the front but it was waaaay to ugly. I put the cover back on and now avoid the section of highway that the state trooper covers.

Any idea where I can get one of those cool transparent plate covers ?

I just moved here from Texas and had to get new plates on my Yukon. They asked me if i wanted the "old style" white ones or the "new style" blue and gold ones. I quickly took the Older ones. I see the new ones around town and they are hideous!

That reminds me of the plates we had in PA back in the 70s and 80s. We went to blue with yellow letters then. Too bad NY doesn't have the special plates we have or had, I'm not certain but I think the cool plates they used to offer are all now bland too.

I havn't had front plates on my Trans Am in over a year. Never been pulled over for it. I see a lot of cars in Md with no front tags. Do they give you a fine or just a repair order. I'm sure you could make something up to get out of it, like it fell off on the highway.

While driving in VA in the T/A, I was going about 12 over when an oncoming statie hit me with instant-on.. I slowed down to get under 10 over, but he was hard on the brakes until what I can only imagine to be that he noticed my inspection stickers weren't in the middle of the window, and he continued on..

I bet that would have been a front plate ticket..

I used to run without a front plate on my '97 LT1 style trans am, since that front end wasnt designed for a plate, I was always able to talk my way out of a ticket. And at the time, a no front plate ticket was only $50.

Now with the LS1 style front end, I cant use that excuse anymore, and wont pay hundreds of dollars now for not having it.

I've just almost, gotten used to the white plate - and soon it'll be that hideous yellow!

It actually reminds me of the plates that New York state had back in the '70s/early '80s (which I think is their point, goin' old school LOL) as well.

It makes you wonder who the hell came up with this idea. This state pisses and moans about not haveing money but yet they make all new plates? But thats only so they can *** rape us on them just like they do with everything else. Our govener is a joke and so is this state. Its too bad becasue its a nice are where i live as far as the hills and rivers but as everyday goes by i think about moving out of here more and more.
