Default Virgina inspection

im moving to Virgina this fall the Roanoke area. im putting on a set of long tubes and deleting my egr and air and im running a high flow cat with magna flow cat back. Am i going to have a problem getting the car inspected.

i know in ny i wouldnt be legal but since the car is a 95 and doesnt get hooked to a computer i just have to pass a visual and most times the inspector just slaps a sticker on it.

It depends on the inspection station wheather or not they look for the air or egr, but if you have cats its more of a chance you will pass and the air and egr will get over looked. If you have no air, egr, and ORY its a sure thing you wont pass.

please excuse my ignorance but whats the difference between a regular y pipe and off road y pipe? just the lack of a place for a cat?

worst comes to worse ill just put the stock parts back on every year for inspection i kept them all. then ill just pull them off after.

What part of VA. In NOVA they do smog checks, which you probably won't pass without cats.

I don't think they do Smog tests down there yet. If you have cats, most likely it will be overlooked. All depends on the inspector. If you don't have cats, then you are sol.

Go for longtubes...just make sure you add some cats. Not very much gain with mids. We have been fine with inpection the past 2 years with longtubes and a catted y pipe on my girl's T/A. We removed EGR and AIR also.

I wouldn't want to run an ORY on an fbody anyway they sound like crap. With cats they are tolerable.
