Duh, of course the '08 will be better and faster than '06, its newer. I find it better to just factor in the overall quality of each, not its performance, and is it really worth the price of its current state. Performance is what mods are for.

If it helps, think.
Older + Less expensive = More $ for mods.
Newer + More expensive = Less $ for mods.

2006 Z06 is supposedly lighter by 30lbs approx. 3yr 36k warranty
2008 Z06 has TR6060 transmission, carbon fiber look center console, 3yr 36k bumper to bumper warranty and 5yr 100k pwr train warranty. 08 also started the PCM can tell if its been flashed and counts how many times!!!!!! SOB's!!!!! Engines are the same, rear diffs the same... maybe some software differences but nothing special.

Stay away from Atomic Orange, they tend to put out lower hp #'s and horrible track times

08 with the TR6060 are not very friendly on missed shifts but they are much more robust trans.

09 starts the new same size 90mm TB. It just tilts backwards instead of forward during throttle on.

This guy here really knows the trans and rear builds for both the c5 and c6 format . He builds my T56 trannies and my c5 diffs. Haven`t broken anything he has built so far and I beat the **** out of it.. Matter of fact trying to break the 3.90 he built for me so I can put the 3.73 he is building for me.
