Don't race it, but those guys make even the Australian V8 Supercars look tame with the amount of door banging they do..

I think I saw that once at Lime Rock Park in CT. It's Miatas that are pretty close to stock right? Looks like fun.

yeah stock engines, only things you can change are shocks, you can change them to coil overs, gut them and put a cage in. no light weight replacement parts and spec'd wheels w/ road race tires

Ear plugs. You will need them for the swarm.

Those miatas look like an absolute blast to race. Some of the most competitive racing i have ever seen.

i've driven a few on lappting days but not in a sanctioned race. they are a blast as long as everyone is in one because if you go out in HPDE classes, the lack of power is annoying.
i've seen completed used packages for under $10k and i've thought about it more than a few times...

true, but there is a satisfaction when beating more powerful cars that lack the driver mod

my buddy races them down here in the southern series, he's gonna let me run his to get my scca license and eventually buy one and have him put everything together.

ear plugs lol, they wont bother me, i race twin engine kart and the motors are right next to my ears

1st DO NOT take any miata that you want to keep out in a spec miata race. They are also known as Smash Miata. I have friends that run Flatout motorsports. They provide rental roadrace cars and Spec Miata is their speciality. They have to do major repairs to every car after each race.
Also the cars must be updated/backdated to a spec year so the newer cars lose some goodies and old cars get new ones, there is also a spec tire you must run. It is deff not a drive it in off the street class.

yes i understand that its not just a pull in and race the car.

i should of been more specific about the post, ive been around road racing for years, i know whats involved w/ the cars to prep them

i was hoping to find someone on here that raced to meet up w/ them at the track help them out if needed. i just didnt want to wander the pits all day lol
