Cool The BSMachine's Detail of Formula413's Ride

Well let me say it is always good to see Alex. I have not in nearly a year due to not be able to get to the track but he made trip down from Western Mass to be here for 7 AM, what a trooper.

This was a Exterior only w/ Door Jambs and Tires.

It was very fun to work on a LT1 Body style and more so a different color that is now rarely seen. Alex had the name of it so I will let him chime in on the name of the Metallic Green.

So anyways, I just got my Makita Buffer but I am in the middle of gathering supplies so a full swirl removal would have to wait but we can do that for the start of the Spring in 2011.

For my Process I basically stuck with the tried and true Meguiar's Combo.

Wash- Meg's Gold Class Wash
Clay- Mother's Clay Bar (was not much on the car, included quick rewash)
Cleaner/Glaze- Meg's M07 Showcar Glaze (applied thinly with my wax spreader) Buffed with clean terry cloth
Sealant- Meg's NXT 2.0 (allowed to dry and buffed with Terry Cloth)
Wax- Meg's M26 Hi-tech Yellow Wax (same as NXT)
Booster- Meg's Ultimate Quick Wax (final wipe with MF towels)
Rims- Water Rinse, Bleech White, Scrubbed with various brushes and rinse
Tires- Water Rinse, Bleech White, Scrubbed, Dried, Armor All Extreme Shine.

Here are the Results. Looking for more stuff to work on and get more practice, I hope to be ready to go with the Buffer.

Yea, I basically brought out the best in it. It will need swirl removal next spring but considering out scheduals and might as well enjoy it for the season, we will follow up in April of 2011

Thanks Aaron, good to see you too and catch up. The color is Dark Yellow Green Metallic. Even though yellow is in the name you can only see just a hint of yellow in just the right light, it's basically a dark green. Those before and after close up pics tell the story, this brought out a lot of metallic flake, I'm amazed at the difference it makes compared to just using regular wax.

I also got to go for a ride in the T/A, I have to say it pulls a little bit harder than my car...

And yeah, that was an early start for me, I'm usually crawling out of bed about the time we finished up. And I still managed to go hiking, then go to a show in Worcester and get home at 1 am. Looooooong day.

^ Lol yea, the T/A does have some pull.

The Metallic POP is absolutely insane. Also have a good camera is going to make a huge difference too. I am glad this was a bump up from BlackBerry Storm 2 Cell Phone Lol. It does not pick up Metallic Flake as good as yours does.

Good job it really richened the color up and gave it a nice gloss.
Cool color too.

Wait till you get into the paint correction, a good job will blow your mind with some nice before and afters. Even a well taken care of car like below can benefit from an ultra light compound/polish just to clean it up and level the paint. Good job though.

When you do before and after pics I highly recommend using a camera with a polarizing filter, it makes a huge difference.

Its truly the only way to appreciate the outcome. I get lazy though and sometimes forget or don't want to drop what I'm doing to get a camera.

But yeah those work in progress shots say a lot.
