id say go with the blower as they have full kits ready to put on the car, and that turbo kits can make the big power but there are way to many "turbo builders" out there that for some reason always fall short of getting the jobs done correctly or even at all.

Yeah, that would be my main concern even with just the heads & cam in the car now.
It's a GREAT trans but it does not get along well with 800+rwhp in a 4000+ pound car.

I am not worried about the trans. My oy jamie runs the tranny tuned correctly and has 200 passes on it running 10.20's with a root blower.

The turbo look fun and I know someone that can build it correctly, its just watching that YSI can only car this weekend go 9.82 was awesome..lol

The 6L80 tranny just sucks ***.The root's car tranny has been "looked at" a few times but it keeps kicking. You can always swap in a 4L80 to solve the problem.

Take a look at the ECS car which runs a much smaller blower and is a good bit heavier than the car than ran 9.82. If ECS hit a good 60' they would of been at the same time.

I would actually say do the ECS kit with the Novi 2000.

I would do a 4l80 with a brake but what about the electronics. They were working on a stand alone unit but nothing out yet?

And for the record Jamies tranny has only been out of the car to do the convertor....

How can it be heavier. Dons car is full weight plus the blower, cage and suspension, It was like 4200 with driver at lebanon

I just go by what I've read throughout the years. "tranny was torn down and inspected" clearances checked ect. Really no big deal.

Then they are the same weight.

Now just do some friggin FI already..

Theres a lot that comes into play(tuning how you drive it ect) but that trans more times than not sees breakage over 600..
Also unless you match tire height and gears right 1st gear becomes useless.. Some people have been leaving in 2nd and running faster on boosted cars

People have done the straight axle but alot of cutting involved. Only problem with the turbo is that the car needs to be 3 bar Sd tuned to run perfectly.

Scotty go with the blower I think equals easier install less headaches, and it will be like old times with the blower on the car now just have to get Chef to go the track.Blower with a meth kit and it will make more hp to scare the crap out of ya.
