Not best place in world but right in the middle of the action.. SeaScape, booked it like 4 days before the show last year. (last min decision) So you can get a place if you need to right before the show.

Book in January if you wanna be on coastal hwy. You'll probably be able to get rooms on the boardwalk into February. I haven't been in a couple years, it seems to fall smack in the middle of my spring final exams. I might go down this year on Friday night and just drive back on Saturday night.

I always went to the Holiday Inn on coastal highway, i think it was $250/night for a direct oceanfront room. Good rooms, not outdated and very clean. however got banned for life due to drunk fighting at 3pm in the lobby last time lol

Could you make a suggestion for a hotel that does allow such fighting?

There really isn't a "bad" place to stay. I'd book by February.

People meet at the Inlet and the convention center, and every hotel and restaurant parking lot for that matter. Coastal Highway is where it's at though. Think of it as one massive red light to red light drag strip. It's also full of cops on bicycles with big fat ticket books.
