Default Nearest road course to Boston?

I have always wanted to take a car around a proper road course, and after investing some time & money into my CTS-V... well... now I would like to do that.

What is the closest road course to Boston Ma and what will I need to do/pay to drive it?

Thanks,

For a true road course you will have to go to NHIS in louden NH or Limerock park in CT. Then you would have to get a spot in one of the HPDE events that run there. They are run buy clubs like the BMWCCA and the Porsche clubs. True SCCA road racing is not for a street car. these cost 150-250 for the entry fee
You should also look into auto crossing esp if you are learning the car, the entry is lower at approx 40 and much less risk to bring the car home in a bag. these are run at Devens airstrip in Ayer MA and at the parking lot up at NHIS
www.ner.org is the SCCA website

Thanks, these are great options. I was kind of hoping there was a road course somewhere that I could drive around with other cars, without actually "racing."

I believe there were autocross events held at the closed naval air station in Weymouth, maybe they still do?

I'll check that out too.

I would like to autocross but really want to open the V up on a road course!

for HPDE's you need to check out the C.O.M. club, bwmcca of Boston and the Porsche clubs as they run those

Check out SCDA (SCDA1), I have run with them many times, it's instructional, no times are kept. They run 4 classes but since you are a beginner that's where you have to start. You must have an instructor run with you but they are wired to your helmet so they can directly communicate with you as you drive. There are also 4 class room sessions where they teach you the in's and outs of road course driving. It's freaking fun and will definitely get the adrenalin going. They run at NHMS, Lime Rock, New Jersey, Watkins Glenn.... I think the NHMS event is 6/4, I'll be going to that weather permitting. Cost is around 250. PM me if you want more info. Tks Brian

I run with NASA Northeast, www.nasane.com. They hold HPDE's at lime rock and the other NE tracks like pocono, watkins glen, NJ Motorsports Park.

Budget around $300 per event and you get an instructor and class room sessions the whole day with about 2 hours of track time (4 30 minute sessions).
