My 2009 Super Silver GTR

Ok so FLAME SUIT ON!!!!!!

I bought a car that I test drove 2 years ago and didnt like. I rethought it from the stand point. I wanted one to see what I could do and what the hypes about sometimes. I have several friends with GTR's and Jimmy thats even on this forum really made me think with his $6000 investment in mods running 10.1's on not the best air condition day. Given yes the car does just about everything for you. Theres not really much of a driver aspect to making it go fast at the track. Its all in the tune, mods, track, DA/weather. However its sometimes refreshing to be cruising in a automatic car that has rear seats. The car is BIG and FEELS BIG!! The car does brake/handle nicely and accelerates interestingly well for being a 3800lbs car. Racing a few cars from rolls only thus far it really does make it tougher on manual transmission guys cause your shift speed is over emphasized. You see yourself fall back due to the GTRs feel of constant acceleration. Lucky for me I'm a fast shifter and able to hold my own against these cars. Dont worry though trust and believe by Fall I'll be looking for a replacement C6Z06 to do H/C/I to or if the right ZR1 fell in my lap I'd go for it aswell. This is a temporary glitch/road bump on a smooth corvette sailing experience.

I'll update this thread as things go along to let you members know goods/bads and strong or weak points of the car.
Things I noticed right away that I didnt like.
1) no memory seats
2) no auto headlights
3) NAVI sucks bad!
4) MPG highway at 21-22mpg (very similar to ZR1)
5) no HUD

So pick away make fun, say good or bad. I'm a big boy and able to take it. NO WORRIES :hide:

Congrats! They are still neat no matter how you look at it. All cars have their place and ups/downs and you'll be able to speak to those. Now throw on some mods and post videos!

Congrats. I can't wait to hear more coming from a vette owner. I say good choice either way. How functional are the rear seats? I heard they are useless unless it's a child in the back. Are they similar to the f-body rear seats or worse??

Nah, I wouldn't want to rip into anyone for their vehicular choices, I'm sure you'll enjoy your Datsun 370Z very much.

Thank you.
The rear seats aren't even useful to a little kid unless they have no legs. With the average adult in the front seat. You are 1-3inches away from the back seat. You can get 4 adults in the car uncomfortably. LOL!

I Like how your car is a foot and a half taller then a c6z and almost 2 ft taller then a c5. But it is a nice car. When does the 1500 awh ams kit come?

How's the tuning market out in PA for those? I know here in MA there's only like 1-2 shops remotely around! Have fun modding it. I know those pick up big gains after modding begins, pretty much like any other FI car!! Look into the GT-RR set up.

I hate you so much Bruce. First a ZR1 and not a GTR...

BTW I was in the black caddie(obvious) with the drunk wife yelling at you trying to get a race in.

junk...

I must say I'm impressed by the all the do-dad's and gadets this car has. Being able to monitor IAT, boost @ manifold, boost @ turbo, etc etc etc etc etc etc... Very nice. I went down w/ Bruce to pick this one up and driving home we got more ppl taking pics of the car then the ZR1. It does feel very big, probally cause you sit up so high.

Dump some E85 in her, put better intake tubes on it. SHE'LL LOVE IT..

LMFAO... funny story, we stopped at a dealer to have the car checked out and there was this older black guy. He walked up to me and said "wha kina car that?"

I told him and he said "well, my 370 will eat that thing" I said "HIGHLY DOUBT IT"

"BOY THAT 370 is RAW DAWWGG!!!"

I just smiled and told him he should go talk to a sales person about this car.

Damn AJ I can't get over how nice those RT-S' are. I'd like to make it a goal to have them on mine by october

Bruce, the GTR is nice but I gotta say I was very surprised when I saw you driving it. I thought it was a joke. We had a nice little take off. I've raced an 09 from a roll and beat it by a few cars when I was stock. I ran that flat black '12 down there on Rt. 50 and he got me by about a car.

You'll get over it. Sometimes people make some weird choices in life. This seems to be one of them lol

lol@boat buddies.

It's a cool car for sure. I don't know anything about them, but it's nice hearing an honest comparison between them and a Vette, coming from a vette guy.
