Default Price on Head and Cam install and Dyno tune

Hello Everyone,

I live in PA just 10 minutes north of Philadelphia. I would drive up to 2 hours if I had to.

I have a 2001 Corvette that need some parts installed and a DYNO tune. I would love to know before and after dyno numbers, but not a must. I just want quality work, at reasonable price. Its winter time so now the time to have it done. If I find the prices are too high I am just going to to it myself, But it would be my first LS1 so I hope a LS1 pro will do it for a reasonable price. With all that said here is what I have to be installed. Please PM me a price if you are shop, or if you could point me to a good shop. That would be great.

2001 Corvette convertible Automatic 25k miles 180 stat, ECS mail tune, and CAI, and Corsa Axle back

Parts to be installed.

Comp Cam custom cam= Spec’d by Pat G milled LS6 stage Heads 2 heads from PRC Push rods Undedrive Pulley ( has to come off mine as well replace with one that will make me hp) Ls7 lifters Comp Cam Torsion Mod ( I am sure I spelled that wrong) Melling Oil Pump New timing chain I have all bolts and gaskets and fluids needed for install Long tube Headers with catted x-pipe (I already have Corsa axle back) Plugs and wires A Tune of course.

I think that’s it.

Thanks for looking.

Your best bet Is to find someone near u to help u Install for cheaper then shop rates. Labor rates for a shop are ridiculous. If I was closer id help u out.

All depends on where you go, I got quotes in the $3,000-$4,000's, then some around $2,000....some vendors some not. Some of these shops crack me up but fortunately for them they have a lot of people brainwashed w/ deep pockets that think they do superhuman work. I personally wouldn't pay anymore then $1,500....tune included.

I agree I generally do all my own work, hence that's why i have all the parts for install, but the oil pump locked up in my turbo stang, and now i have to rebuild that thing. My current tuner for my mustang Franknfrom PSI. He wanted $2200-$2400. I know what it would take to do this. so if I find a far shop. Maybe I wll have them always do my work, and suggest them to all the motor heads at work lol. Supercharged c6's, G8, charger srt-8, jeep srt8, cobra, tTbss. I mean it's a car filled gang lol...

Well let me know, I got a few guys down here that do my work...I have both a Stang and LS specialist. Both top notch and they definitely wont kill you on labor.

My vote is for CSP. All the local guys near me all go to Slowhawk but Im going to give CSP a shot when Im ready for H/C/I and a new clutch. His rates are very reasonable, Ive heard great things about his tuning skills. Over on LS1GTO his reviews are awesome and Im sold.

I would expect $2k for a decent shop to do it. $500 for a good tune and $1500 for a shop to install correctly while checking pv clearance and setting pushrod preload correctly.

I've never had work done by CSP but I've met Andrew and he's a really nice guy and knows his ****.

I personally have had nothing but good experiences with Race Proven Motorsports in DE. They've built 2 awesome engines for me and they're always immediately available for customer support.
