Default Finally back to racing with a slight new best

Best Pass of the day was as follows:
60':........1.446 <--- BOOO!
330'........4.223
1/8.........6.542
MPH.......105.69
1000'.....8.548
1/4........10.244
MPH.......133.07

There was another 10.248 @ 133.04, a 10.277 @ 133.27, 10.29 @ 132.56 and a **** ton of 10.3's

Having not raced the car in years, it feels good to be back in the seat again.

I ran a rental last fall, but broke an axle on the second pass. The rental this spring, showed me that if you don't use it, you really do lose it. I could not shift worth dick! TPS going to 0% on every shift... I suck!

Finally at the Nov 29 rental things started clicking again at least for me, the car... well there are some bugs to work out.

I changed up the suspension a bit and added weight with a drag bar and heavier torque arm. Since CARTEK does not have an alignment machine I went to someone else to align the car and square up the rear. He was a tool, the car does not go strait worth dick and I had to fight it all day.

The 3 year old clutch fluid was not helping, and the car was rolling forward on the 2-step causing me to deep stage and sometimes even trip the beams. UGH! Have to adjust the master and change the fluid, hopefully that will help.

Third, my 60's SUCK! I was always in the 1.41/1.40 range. Now I can't do better than a 1.44 when I should be 1.38 or better. Suspension is not working and needs to be looked at. There is a reputable shop close to my house and I should have gone there to begin with. Will bring the car there this winter.

It wasn't the 9 second time slip I am looking for, but I can't complain having not done it for so long and not having all the bugs worked out.

On CARTEK's part, the engine performed flawlessly, and any day I can drive the car to the track, race, and drive it back is a good day in my book.

Enjoy the vid!

congrats on the new best.I know whats it's like to run a new best and feel like everything was not working it's best as far as suspension and driving .It's only going to get better. I tried hot lapping my car with 4yr old fluid too and had to scrap 2 runs cause the car wouldnt go in to gear. 9's NA in a 347 swinging a stick ..thats going to be sick and it's just a matter of time before you get it done.Keep banging them gears!
