There's not enough time to just sit and talk about it. Go to www.howstuffworks.com and it will tell you just about all you want to know with some interactive demos.

I started out reading the technical content at our site...links, pics, stickies etc...

Thats what I did 1150 posts ago.

At that time, I knew nothing.

Meet up with locals who work on their own cars. Go to dyno days and talk to the people who really know. And read as much here as you can and try to filter out the crap.

Yeah sign up for message boards that focus on your engine type, lock yourself in a room for 5 months and read threads, and then you should be good to go .... that's what I did and that was only on learning how cam specs effect power curves, and I still don't know **** hahaha

Like someone else said...learn more by doing. Work on your own car for as much as you can handle.
