..continued from the old thread
http://jannettyracing.com/dragday.shtml

The track day that was originally scheduled at LVD for Fri May 19th is rescheduled to Fri May 26th due to rain. This is the Friday of memorial day weekend and i have a feeling it is going to be PERFECT track weather!I bet everyone is itching to get out to the track after all these days of rain, so now everyone who couldn't make it the 19th have a chance to make it the 26th.
Click that link to make the payment and reserve your spot today. Thanks

I'm assuming if we reserved a spot for the 19th we don't need to re-register, right?

Looks like a great day of racing, good way to start off the holiday weekend

you can pay at the track but you must call by today (before five I believe) and give them your name . It is to give them a heads up so they know how much food to bring

This is if they still have tickets left. I know last weekend there were only about 7 or so left and a few people called this week to reserve a spot so I would call

Well looks like we should at least have a dry morning to run, here's to keeping the fingers crossed that the rain holds off.

I'll be up there with a GTO and an SRT4.

Well, not perfect, but not too bad.

Rain shut us down about 1pm. The air was terrible too, pretty much + 3000' DA the whole time. And of course as usual at LVD the timing boards weren't working again, so you had no idea what anyone else was running. I only got 5 passes in, though in fairness I had to spend a chunk of my time helping out my buddy who blew an axl in his SRT4 on his first pass.

On the plus side IMHO the track was hooking better than any other time I can ever remember. I was pulling bottom 1.7 60's on Mickey DR's consistently, usually I only manage high 1.7s or low 1.8s. I was running pretty consistent, other than a 12.4 on the first pass when I bogged because I didn't expect to hook so good, I ran 3 12.2's, and finished it off with a new best of 12.101@114.9. Trap was off a good 2mph from what I usually get.

For me, I made maybe about 6 runs, which were all pretty crappy. I pretty much expected that anyway since I drove the car only once for about 10 minutes in 6 months before that track day. I also was hooking pretty good, but was having major trouble launching (bogging a lot) which gave me 2.0-2.4 60' times. The times I didn't bog, my clutch was slipping (about 2 runs in the middle, and then the clutch seemed fine?). I really need to work at that. IMO, freaking LVD sucked. The tree wasn't working for one, which is totally rediculous. The guys working there sucked, I had to have a friend run up each time I ran to help back me into the water box since the employee standing there had no clue, on top of the 15 car time slip line since the guy doing was backed up, I didn't even wait a few times for my timeslip since it took so long (this occurred for a few hours). Then, one thing I thought was funny, I lined up with my boyfriend one time, and I clearly beat him to the finish by I'd say a half a second, and when we got our time slips it said he ran a 13.3 and I ran a 13.4? Interesting to me...

Sounds like a normal day at LVD... tree not working, workers have no clue, etc.etc.etc.

it definitely was a great time regardless. It seemed like quite a few cars broke that day too. It was also great to see Erics buddy in the 06 GTO do a 30 second clutch burnout. I had a front row view for that!

Yeah Steph hit on a few points. The backup on the timeslip line was rediculous. And I had no one directing me to back up into the water (and plus not enough water down), so I started cracking the door open and checking. My first burnout I pretty much dead hooked in the waterbox, lol. And the timing board never seems to work anymore when I'm up there. At least their new timing system is kind of nice and gives you the DA.

Also Steph, what were your guys RTs? That can be a few tenths right there, I've finished ahead of a car before by a few lengths but had a slower ET because he slept at the tree.

Oh dear god, poor guy. I told him not to worry about a burnout, if anything just a quick spin. Apparently that means light them up like John Force! I was 2 cars behind him in line and saw it all. I thought for sure that car wouldn't budge off the line after smoking it that bad. 3 hours later the friggin thing still stunk! Oh well, I've seen 1st timers do worse...including myself.

I forgot to mention that, the RTs were only a few hundreds of a different, not enough to have the ET off a full few tenths. Who knows
