How Far Did You Go to Get Your Car?
Just wondering how far everyone went to get their car. I actually saw my new car on Ebay, called the guy and asked him how much to take it off ebay. The price was very reasonable, so me and my dad are flying out to Illinois next friday to drive it home.
So--Eastern PA to Southern IL--approximately 900 miles.

Morgantown, WV to Columbus OH Drove it back after purchase. I went looking for an SS in late Aug 02 and the picking was bare. No dealers would trade Z28's for SS's so I found my car online at McDorman Chevy and it was the last SS they were getting. I asked them to hold it one day and I would be there the next. Good people and service there BTW!

I drove from Lisbon falls, ME to Manchester, NH, flew from there to Tampa, FL; drove the car back home to Maine, with an unexpected detour through PA, a total Drive of 1476 Miles.

My Z06 I bought private sale in NJ. Saw it on ebay and gave him a call, he cancelled the auction and we worked it out on our own. Thats the only way to buy a car off ebay.
I've also purchased a Jeep from Newark, NJ and an Audi from Pittsburgh.

I drove about 75 miles each way to get it. I told a local dealership what I wanted to pay, and they said good luck finding one at that price... so, I found one the next day a few miles down the road.
When they called back wanting to deal, I had already ordered the car from somewhere else.

A few years ago I bought a '95 Z-28 convertible on E-Bay. Flew to Ft Lauderdale, picked the car up at the airport parking garage (it was about 1:30am), jumped in and started driving north to Westport, MA. Bought a '99 Z-28 convertible a few years later. That was trucked up from LA. Last year I flew to Ft Worth, TX to pick up a Mercedes S500 coupe. Drove that back to MA (good trip!)

I live in central PA and I found my car on Autotrader for sale in Detroit. I rented a car, drove up on a Friday night, bought the car Saturday morning, and drove home. 500 miles one way. I called Michigan DMV and they told me that they don't issue temp tags, instead they just give you 72 hours to get the car home. So, I drove a Navy Blue SS from Michigan, across Ohio and PA, in March with no license plate and no window stickers and I never got pulled over.
